Okay, so I'm a Harry Bosch fan. But maybe I've read too many or maybe Connelly has written too many. This one had its moments, but some of Harry's traits are getting a little shopworn. I loved all the stuff with Irvin Irving though

I wanted to like this more than I did. I'm very interested in YA science fiction that is technologically sophisticated. Maybe that's asking too much, but I'm trying to write some myself. The relationships were well done, but the starship seemed like...more

Uh-oh. Afraid I didn't get the Jack Vance memo. This was just okay to this jaded reader, but maybe I should have picked it up forty years ago.

I waited way too long to read my pal Steve Gould's JUMPER. I kept thinking it would run out of steam as I read but Steve delivered pretty much continual surprise and emotional power all the way to the end. First rate.

Loved this one. I was expecting a space procedural and got so much more than I bargained for. Great characters, cool ideas. This one plants its flag in Arthur C. Clarke territory and does the old gent one better.

“The walls are everywhere. Limits. You're not smart enough, not rich enough. You get tired. You die. Some people like to pretend they've broken out. That they're running free. But there's no escape. You have to find a way to live within the walls. And then, they don't matter.”
