About this author

I never expected to write a book.

My husband and I figured out how to spend a year living in Italy as just ordinary people. We thought we would get fluent. Well, that didn't happen, but so much of our world view, our appreciation for America as well as Italy, even our life together morphed in that year that we had to share the story.

I enjoy well-written, meaty books, both fiction and non-fiction. Reading has helped me become a better writer. And writing has certainly helped me be a more discriminating reader.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. The story of the plot to assassinate the Medici brothers is right in the sweet spot of Italian history that fascinates me. The author interweaves this historical account with the tale of a Jewish printer and his famil...more

"For me it was The Horse Whisperer. The ending was sappy and pandering. Robert Redford's movie changed it-to what it should have been. "
The Last Innocent Hour by Margot Abbott
" Apparently Margot Abbott never wrote another book, and it seems very few people read this one. That's a shame, because it is a very well told story with important implications.

Nancy Petralia is on page 175 of 354 of Pompeii: I'm really enjoying this book. The research is amazing and it's hard to believe there is so much detail about life in Pompeii. It's very well done but a slow read.

Nancy Petralia Glad to connect as friends as well as in the group. You'll see I love reading and many of my books are about Italy.

Hoping you'll give our book a look. I posted something on the group the other day, but maybe I put it in the wrong place. I don't think even you saw it.

Here's the link.
