About this author

Jerry Sander has worked with inner-city, suburban, and rural teenagers as a Certified Social Worker in private practice, in agencies, and in schools for the past 19 years. He currently works in a suburban public high school as a Student Assistance Counselor.

Born in Amityville, New York, he is a graduate of Oberlin College and has a Masters degree in Social Work from New York University. His completion of a M.F.A. program in Directing at the University of Washington, in Seattle, preceded a brief New York career in theater, which was the inspiration for his one-act play, The Way It Works.
