About this author

Brian Crowell was born in 1974 in Illinois. Growing up, he lived in Illinois, Texas, Arizona, Kentucky, and Florida. He graduated from Saint Leo University in Florida in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology. Since 2007, he, his wife, and their two boys have lived in Georgia. Brian writes and illustrates children's fiction as BD Crowell. His first children's book, Derrick the Dog, was published in June 2013.

Brian also writes adult horror and supernatural fiction under the pen name D. Lee Warren. The D Lee Warren books are completely inappropriate for children, but if it says BD Crowell on the cover, it's safe for kids.

But it took me awhile to learn some of the subtle uses...

Good stuff. Fun, short stories. A lot of prescience here, and of course, a lot of stuff that was way off. Still, I get a kick out of seeing what they thought things were going to be like in the future that has now become the present or even the past....more

B.D. Crowell I'm looking for recommendations for a book on Down Syndrome. Specifically, I'm trying to learn more about how children are affected (developmentally, socially, etc.) and how they see and interact with the world around them. Thanks for any pointers.
