[image error]Recently, ReasonTV posted the below interview with thriller author Brad Thor. Thor impressed me as smart, and Nick Gillespie’s praise for The Hidden Order intrigued me — because Thor had apparently built an entertaining thriller on the history of the Federal Reserve and monetary policy(!).


So I acquired a copy and have now read it. And something about Thor’s writing has been nagging...

The second of Brown's mysteries that I've read (the first was The Fabulous Clipjoint), and this was very nearly as good. In both books, Brown plays with the already-cliched conventions of hardboiled mysteries, and does so with a great sense of fun.
