Honestly, I get distracted when I have Writer's Block. It's terrible. I'll check my Facebook, my Twitter, how my book sales are going, who's emailing me... But what I really should be doing is working on something new, or maybe making notes of where I see the story going, or step away from the writing altogether and read a good book for inspiration. There's something about typing away at the keys that allows my mind to stop jumbling itself out and to start making sense outside of myself. Sometimes I'll write true experiences to work things out. Other times, I let my characters take on the issues.
The other good part is that when I want to write about someone really horrible, but can't use their name for fear of offending them, I can just make them a character in my book. That allows me to be super honest about things without outing someone's horribleness. (less)

Blog note: This post is kind of embarrassing. Don’t read it. Especially if you are Colleen Hoover.

There are two realities I’ve been living in lately – one of total frustration and impatience, and one of sheer excitement about possibilities. It’s whatever one I’m focusing on that dictates how I live.

Hint: Cupcakes are a delicious part of my new book series coming in 2015.

I was told that the 3rd book in the Divergent series was the worst. I disagree. While it didn't compare to the rush of the first book, it was a worthy read of its own. It answered many questions, like how their world came to be and what the factions...more

Forever Thirteen by Crissi Langwell
"Forever Thirteen is a fantasy, or is it para-normal, or maybe it’s non-fiction and there really is an afterlife. There certainly is in this delightful novel by Crissi Langwell. Most of the characters in the story are dead, but that’s not bad. They..." Read more of this review »
