There's something about typing away at the keys that allows my mind to stop jumbling itself out and to start making sense outside of myself. Sometimes I'll write true experiences to work things out. Other times, I let my characters take on the issues.
The other good part is that when I want to write about someone really horrible, but can't use their name for fear of offending them, I can just make them a character in my book. That allows me to be super honest about things without outing someone's horribleness. (less)

Honestly, I get distracted when I have Writer's Block. It's terrible. I'll check my Facebook, my Twitter, how my book sales are going, who's emailing me... But what I really should be doing is working on something new, or maybe making notes of where I see the story going, or step away from the writing altogether and read a good book for inspiration.
