About this author

Rosemary O'Brien is the author of two novels, FIRST SATURDAY (2002) and SCRAPS (2013). A freelance writer for over 15 years, I am concentrating on a new publishing venture. Pocket Parks Publishing publishes guides to pocket parks and public spaces in cities around the U.S., in London and eventually around the world.

BEST Pocket Parks of NYC (2014) is the first guide published by Pocket Parks Publishing and is already receiving great reviews.

I live in Southern Connecticut with my little family and two interesting cats.

I enjoyed this book very much. The characters were well-developed and not what they seem at all. It was also interesting reading about a time in American history when over abundance was the norm for some. Very interesting.

It seemed as if it was going to be an interesting story, but I just could not get through the blood and guts.

This was more a 'gave up by' date. I read about 2/3rds in and then could not take the sullen grandson and the weak storyline. The characters were not fully developed and the girlfriend was hard to fully visualize, especially her vocal talents. Sorry, ...more
