About this author

K.C. Rivers is a manga-reading, video-game-playing fantasy enthusiast with a particular fetish for elves, pirates, and winged creatures. She often finds inspiration for her writing from the scenic outdoors that her native Oregon has to offer. When she’s not playing the piano, writing, or reading, she can usually be found taking a long walk, enjoying a good cup of coffee or quoting The Princess Bride and Monty Python. She currently lives with her husband, two dogs and cat. Prince of Light is her first novel.

Another lovely and enchanting book from Jessica Day George. I wasn’t sure what to expect on this series, given the nature of the first book, but I really enjoyed reading from Poppy’s point of view. This take on the classic “Cinderella” story is a new...more

Whenever I'm in the mood for a feel-good book that simply makes me happy, I turn to Jessica Day George. She is rapidly becoming one of my all-time favorite authors. She has a simplistic writing style that gives her books the "fairy tale" feeling that...more

A fast-paced read very reminiscent of Rick Riordan’s writing style. I really liked the main character, Jack. He was very much like Percy Jackson in his thought process and mannerisms, but still unique enough to be his own breed of character type.

While there was a bit more language than I usually prefer, the storyline was very compelling. A wealthy family disappears, but no one immediately steps forward for a ransom. So why were they kidnapped? And by whom?

It was a little harder to follow this one at first. I felt like I was introduced to a lot of characters too quickly, but once I figured out who was who it was another enjoyable fluffy mystery.

Aw, thank YOU! Yes, Lewis and Tolkien were huge inspirations for me. In fact, I recently decided to re-read The Chronicles of Narnia just for fun. And because I now have an omnibus. :)
