About this author

Author of sensual contemporary western romance with strong family ties, paranormal romance on occasion, and dramatic romantic fiction—sometimes writing sensual love stories with less conflict and drama. Other times dramatic and sexy for a more emotional and compelling read.

Early days of reading romance novels and women's fiction laid the groundwork for me to take up the pen and write my own memorable love stories. I admit, I'm a true romantic at heart. Other writers have always been my inspiration.

Listening to the music I’ve chosen for that book, usually gets me inspired to get back to writing. Another thing I do is make a list of about ten things that can happen in the story. Things that haven't been plotted out. Some are silly and off-the-wall ideas I’ll never use, but other ideas can come from this list.

A new thing I’ve started is writing out of order. If I get stumped in the middle of the book, or anywhere in the book, I’ll write the ending or some other scene, and then I can get back to where I left off. Sometimes, I'll work on a different book. (less)

This will pick up where Cowboy Boss and his Destiny left off. Cowboy Boss is standalone, but as the author, I felt there was more to tell in their story.

I’ve also started book three in that series. The third book will cover the youngest Carlson brother at the ranch. (less)

Heartbreak's Reward by Mary J. McCoy-Dressel
“Jase opened his door, stepped down, and leaned into her window. “Hungry?”

Taking a big breath didn’t help when his sexy scent of cologne had hit her in the face. Hallelujah. “Yeah, I’m getting there.”

“Let’s go. The cowboy just came to take you away.” He reached in and turned off the ignition, clasped her keys and opened the door. When she stepped out, he didn’t bother to move back any and they were close. This man was hot and not only his temperature. Whatever kind of chemistry radiated off him, soaked right into her.”

More of Mary's books…
“When I love, I love with everything within me.”

Seeing him with his child, this was obvious. Did he mean…yes, he meant exactly what he said, and it was like he wanted her to know it went much deeper than only with his child. That whatever he loved, he loved with everything inside of him. “I sense that about you, Tristan. Your actions and words are heartfelt.”
Mary J. McCoy-Dressel, Cowboy Boss and his Destiny

“I wasn't raised to let a woman walk through a dimly lit parking lot alone. Wasn't born in a cornfield, you know.”

Velia turned. “No, I didn't know. So, you're quite a gentleman. Don't we sound like a good pair—the devil woman and the gentleman?”
Mary J. McCoy-Dressel, Howdy, Ma'am

“Even though he was busy adjusting and gripping his rope, he glanced over and smiled.

She had her camera up waiting for a moment such as this. His whole face
seemed to glow when he smiled, not to mention added another aspect to his
handsomeness.”
Mary J. McCoy-Dressel, Howdy, Ma'am
