Theresa Shea's debut novel, The Unfinished Child, was published by Brindle & Glass in the spring of 2013. It was a finalist for the Alberta Book Award in Fiction (2014), the Alberta Readers' Choice Award (2014), and the BookBundlz "Book Pick" Contest (2013).

The Unfinished Child dramatically explores the moral challenges that result from the increased scientific interventions in human reproduction.

Shea is currently working on her second book, a novel set in Washington D.C. that explores the civil rights movement of the 1960s.

Shea holds degrees in literature from McGill University, Queen's University, and the University of Alberta. She lives in Edmonton with her husband, three children, and one golden retriever.
