Wasn't sure who the villain was till the end, and really enjoyed the setting and voice of the character. The only thing I thought was a little too convenient was the scene at the masquerade near the end and the "confusion" that ensued there. I will def...more |

The setting was interesting, but the plot very predictable. I found myself skimming paragraphs of description and trying to get to the story. I will read the second book, The First Assistant. |
