About this author

I'm an author, actor, playwright and excellent parallel parker. I'm also the voice you love to hate on your cell phone's GPS. (Seriously.)

I'm the author of Rules of the Lake and Ashes to Water, both set in central Florida, where I grew up. I'm touring libraries, building a readership one booklover at a time.

I created Annie Bartlett and dropped her into the setting of my life. Her story, like mine, unfurls in water. Her memories and monsters melt and swirl into a faded picture postcard of a Florida I once knew.

I signed divorce papers today. It was a non-event. I thought it would be an event. Noop. And last month, my therapist fired me. She said, "Go, live, be free," or something like that. Or, maybe it was "Stick a fork in you, you're done." Anyway, she's a good therapist. I call her the Woodland Creature for reasons I won't disclose. Now she's in my past.

You don't need to read the prequel first (oddly enough) to appreciate ASHES. It stands alone. To repeat myself, YAY!
