As the subject line not-so-subtly implies, I'm happy to release the book trailer for Once Burned, book one in the new Night Prince series. For this trailer, I again hired the fabulous people from Book Candy Studios and I think they did a wonderful job. Why do I have book trailers made for my novels? Well, mostly because I get a kick out of them :). Also, they're another way to communicate a sto... read more »

Dead Beautiful
Dead Beautiful by Yvonne Woon

goodreads summary-On the morning of her sixteenth birthday, Renée Winters was still an ordinary girl. She spent her summers at the beach, had the perfect best friend, and had just started dating the cutest guy at school. No one she'd ever known had died. But all that changes when she finds her parents dead in the Redwood Forest, in what appears to be a strange double murder.

After the funeral Renée’s wealthy grandfather sends her to Gottfried Academy, a remote and mysterious boarding school in Maine, where she finds herself studying subjects like Philosophy, Latin, and the “Crude Sciences.”

It’s there that she meets Dante Berlin, a handsome and elusive boy to whom she feels inexplicably drawn. As they grow closer, unexplainable things begin to happen, but Renée can’t stop herself from falling in love. It’s only when she discovers a dark tragedy in Gottfried’s past that she begins to wonder if the Academy is everything it seems.

Little does she know, Dante is the one hiding a dangerous secret, one that has him fearing for her life.

Dead Beautiful is both a compelling romance and thought-provoking read, bringing shocking new meaning to life, death, love, and the nature of the soul.

Generation Dead
Generation Dead (Generation Dead, #1) by Daniel Waters

goodreads summary-Phoebe Kendall is just your typical Goth girl with a crush. He’s strong and silent…and dead.

All over the country, a strange phenomenon is occurring. Some teenagers who die aren't staying dead. But when they come back to life, they are no longer the same. Feared and misunderstood, they are doing their best to blend into a society that doesn’t want them.
The administration at Oakvale High attempts to be more welcoming of the “differently biotic." But the students don’t want to take classes or eat in the cafeteria next to someone who isn’t breathing. And there are no laws that exist to protect the “living impaired” from the people who want them to disappear—for good.
When Phoebe falls for Tommy Williams, the leader of the dead kids, no one can believe it; not her best friend, Margi, and especially not her neighbor, Adam, the star of the football team. Adam has feelings for Phoebe that run much deeper than just friendship; he would do anything for her. But what if protecting Tommy is the one thing that would make her happy?

Maze Runner

The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner

goodreads summary-Imagine waking up one day in total darkness, unsure of where you are and unable to remember anything about yourself except your first name. You're in a bizarre place devoid of adults called the Glade. The Glade is an enclosed structure with a jail, a graveyard, a slaughterhouse, living quarters, and gardens. And no way out. Outside the Glade is the Maze, and every day some of the kids -- the Runners -- venture into the labyrinth, trying to map the ever-changing pattern of walls in an attempt to find an exit from this hellish place. So far, no one has figured it out. And not all of the Runners return from their daily exertions, victims of the maniacal Grievers, part animal, part mechanical killing machines.

Thomas is the newest arrival to the Glade in this Truman-meets-Lord of the Flies tale. A motley crew of half a dozen kids is all he has to guide him in this strange world. As soon as he arrives, unusual things begin to happen, and the others grow suspicious of him. Though the Maze seems somehow familiar to Thomas, he's unable to make sense of the place, despite his extraordinary abilities as a Runner. What is this place, and does Thomas hold the key to finding a way out?

In The Maze Runner, Dashner has crafted a creative and engaging novel that's both mysterious and thought provoking.

goodreads summary-Luke's mum is dead. He finds himself in a small, scruffy northern hill town, with a near silent father, who he fears might be trying to drink himself to death. Then he meets Jon. Jon is massively strange. He wears 1950s clothes, has a side-parting and a twitch. The kids at school call him 'Slackjaw'. When Luke discovers his secret, Jon changes his life in more ways than he can imagine. Luke and Jon is a coming of age novel about family, bereavement and how lives can change forever in a single second. Written with great power, warmth and humour, it signals a hugely engaging and original new voice. Compelling and emotionally acute, it is a unique debut.

As Muriel tends to things at home with the help of Frank’s sister, Emma, she becomes more and more fascinated by the women’s suffrage movement, but she is surrounded by people who advise her to keep her opinions to herself. Hi Lauren, I wrote something about the letter in the box her on my fan site: http://www.frostfans.com/forums/viewt...

There's no date yet for Cat and Bones #7, sorry.

Re-What Cat whispered to Bones in TSOTG is what she later told Don she wanted to do when she was at his bedside (being vague so as to not spoil anyone who hasn't read that far yet).

Thanks, and take care!

Lauren (aplpeach) I was just wondering when book 7 of cat and bones is going to be out. I love your books and read the first 6 in three weeks. I couldn't put them down.

Jeaniene Frost Jenny wrote: "Are there going to be any more books in the nighthuntress series? :)"

Yes, Jenny. There will be a total of nine Cat and Bones books, and at least two Vlad books (the new Night Prince series). Thanks!

Danielle D. Smith Hi Jeaniene!
Many belated thanks for accepting the friendship request...I'm honored, truly! You are quite the inspiration. :-) I love old cemeteries, too...could walk thru them for hours and never feel bored. I have a huge winged skull tattooed across my chest that was pulled from a real headstone rubbing from a 1690's Rhode Island boneyard...I guess that proves that I'm truly a creepy oddball?
Warm Regards,
Danielle D. Smith

message 36: by Jenn

Jenn Thanks for the friend accept!!! I absolutely love your books! Cat and Bones are amazing and I find myself comparing other characters from other series to them (very few ever make it close) I've read each book multiple times and I cant wait for Vlads story and book 6!!!!!

message 35: by Daniela

Daniela You truly are an amazing Author!! I cannot get enough of The Night Huntress Series. I'll NEVER get tired or bored of reading about Cat & Bones' lives, adventures and love. They're amazing and have become my all time favorite paranormal couple. They fit so well together, it's such a joy to read. The banter between them is amazing.

The Night Huntress World series is equally amazing. I ate Spade's book all up. And now, I hear that Vlad is next. AHHH!!! I cannot wait!! He's become one of my favorite characters. I'm SO hoping that you do a side story on Ian though. He cracks me up and I'd love to see someone truly have HIM wrapped around their finger. LOL

Thank you, so much, for creating and writing these characters and their stories!! I cannot wait for the ride to continue!

Stefany Love! Love! your books! My husbands nick name is "Bones" lol :)

message 27: by Lexxie

Lexxie Jeaniene, thanks for accepting me :)

I wanted to give you kudos for "This Side of The Grave" that I read last week, and I loved all of it! The humor, the characters' growth, the fights... the whole thing was excellent!

And one of the things I really like about your books is that you don't think it is necessary to have a love triangle in order to make things interesting.

Thanks for writing such a great series, I'm going to do a re-read before the next book will be released.

Jess-*Rubs up on crotches* Jeaniene, thanks for accepting my friend request :) much appreciated.

Just wanted to say, how much I'm in love with your Night Huntress books. They are my new addiction, as is Bones. Bones has some of the best lines, and you've really nailed the British humor. I'm from the UK so its great listening to Bones speak.

Anyway, only just been introduced to this series and I'm currently reading Destined for an Early Grave, and its bloody fantastic!

Thank you so much for bringing this series (and Bones) into my life.

Jessica (UK)
