About this author

I'm a librarian in Williamsburg, Virginia, where I specialize in readers' advisory. I also write and blog, mostly about books. Lately, I've come to think of myself simply as a "bookman." It's a way of life.

I blog in two places, Blogging for a Good Book at Williamsburg Regional Library (http://bfgb.wordpress.com) and Book Group Buzz for Booklist Online (http://bookgroupbuzz.booklistonline.com).

My first book, Read On... Fantasy Fiction, came out in 2007, and my second, Fellowship in a Ring, a handbook for science fiction and fantasy book groups arrived in late 2009. I love speculative fiction, but I think my next project will take on something different. Stay tuned!

OK, now I'm regretting not seeing this when it was in New York with Alan Rickman or Jeff Goldblum in the lead. It's about four young writers in a seminar with an extremely prickly writer. As Rebeck mentions in her preface, part of her pleasure in wri...more

Tori Hey Neil! Maine is great. Quiet and uneventful enough to force me to focus. Not so quiet that I'm turning into a Stephen King character, although I've seen enough odd things to know where he gets the ideas for his stories.

I'm wanting to be performing again too. Keeping my eyes open for things to do this year. Let me know how you like Bedroom Farce. Is it in at the library yet and available to the public?
