By "this", I mean a bill in Washington state that would extend domestic violence protection to victims' pets. (From Jezebel)
What isn't so great is some of the comments people have made about this issue different places. Mainly the, "ZOMG, what about the children?" and "Oh noes, people care more about animals than the victims!"
Um...dude, children are already protected. This isn't about protecting animals over people, this is about removing a barrier for women in abusive relationships.

So I thought I'd write about what my day is like to better explain why the hell you guys don't have a new chapter of Curio Killed the Cat yet.
7:30 - 8 Wake up. Say hi to boyfriend. Start answering email.
8:30 Have breakfast while continuing to answer email.
8:45 Brush my teeth.
8:50 Continue working on the computer. Here's some stuff that I do:
- Schedule books for Munania well into 2010, speak with authors about it, get yelled at by authors, yell back, etc.

So I did some writing at my mum's. Got another chunk of April's CotA chapter done, more or less finished next Monday's Curio Killed the Cat chapter and started the next, as well as some other stuff. Transferred it from the Alphasmart, cleared out the old files, saved, and was ready to do some editing...
Or so I thought.
Turns out I saved over Monday's Curio chapter. I'm left with the crappy 500 words I had before I left.
*headdesk*
I've had this happen before. I've lost files. I've intentionall
1. Just because I'm willing to tell you to go fuck yourself when you're a rude prick to me, does NOT make me an irrational female.

3. Also, there is no excuse for disrespect to any woman, let alone someone you're doing business with in a position of authority, so you can shove your paternalistic attitude up your ass.
So...we all clear on that?
Good.

Part of my job for the past year has been working in Acquisitions. This means that I distribute "slush" (or unsolicited manuscripts) to my readers, as well as take some myself. I coordinate all this, and then send out rejection letters, full read notices, and acceptances accordingly.
Whenever I have correspondence with writers, there's a chance I'll hear back from them. Sometimes it's direct, other times it's indirectly. See, there's this thing about the internet...if you say it publicly, som

So it's Valentine's Day. Or it will be tomorrow. I thought that it would be a good opportunity to look at pictures of cute boys. Or something. Anyway, onto my top five TV character crushes.
5. Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice
I know I'm going to get in trouble for putting at the bottom of this list, but it was technically a mini-series and not a TV show. So he shouldn't be on here at all, but he's too pretty to leave out.
Everyone loves Mr. Darcy because he's that brutally hot and even tho

I was just over at GoodReads and a I read a really fab review of NBR from reader Tish:
Beautifully crafted, NOTHING BUT RED brings home, with stunning clarity, the fact that anybody who believes that violence against women is something that only happens in certain countries, amongst people of certain religions, or is a thing of the past, is sadly mistaken. This could be YOUR mother, YOUR sister, YOUR daughter, friend or niece. This could be YOU. The words and images captured in these pages will n
