Exactly what the subject line says, folks. Words of wisdom...only this time from fictional characters as I'm working on my WiPs.

I've come under some criticism because I have made it so that future chapters of my serial, Children of the Apocalypse, can only be read by regular contributors to my community. I will put the rest of this entry under a cut to protect the innocents from the profane...Read more

Off to Take Back the Night rally and march tonight. I found out yesterday that I'm about to be so broke I can't make rent, but I'll still see if I can scrape together a donation for the local shelter that's hosting it.

First, the very awesome Jim Hines posted this link to some foolproof sexual assault prevention tips. If you're female, you've probably received an email before from someone giving you all kinds of advice on how not to get yourself raped. Well, that link has the best advice...

It's my birthday a week from today. Well into my twenties, I taped a birthday list on my refrigerator, though I rarely got anything from my list.

I'm turning twenty-seven. If you don't think that sounds old, please remember that my boyfriend is twenty-two. Believe me, it feels old.

Here is what I currently would like for my bday:

I'm doing another read-through of my next novel Hunter before sending it off to my fab editor. I'm seriously hopeful we can come up with a series title (this is the sequel to Bloodlines and three other yet-to-be-written books were contracted last year) because I'm at a loss. I haven't blogged anything since my last douche bag author rant, though I have a couple of other publishing-related posts in the words (which, if I can keep the swearing to a minimum, will go on the company blog rather than here).

Boyfriend and I were vacationing a bit...I was gone Saturday until Wednesday, and then Wed night I had the launch party for my new novel. Said party was great--a lot of people showed up and we actually all stayed an hour past the original time I had it set for. I ended

Welcome to a new edition of HNTBADBA 101.

Warning: this column will regularly feature lots of profanity. So Sensitive Speshul Snowflakes can go elsewhere.

This week, we're going to talk about...douche bags who insult editors while their manuscripts are under consideration.

This may seem like a no-brainer. Why the hell would anyone insult an editor while their manuscript is under consideration (or while they THINK their manuscript is under consideration)? But it happens. A lot.

And not just from t

I just posted something on the Mundania blog about author impatience, which you can read right here.

That post is specifically about authors sending things in books before they're ready, and it happens all too often.Read more
