Haley.L. Hey, Mrs. (ill just say your first name because i dont want to reveal your last name) Lizette. why are you sick? Get better okay? And if your better: Congrats! well, Bye!

Brendan Hello Oscar and Lizette,

One of the books I'm currently reading is Human Smoke (nonfiction) by Nicholson Baker. Chronologically citing various newspaper and magazine articles, radio speeches, memoirs, and diaries, Baker tries to communicate the absurdities leading up to WWII and its continuance. Within this approach he advocates Pacifism as the way for doing away with world war conflicts. He pulls the emotional levers of the heart well; but, the irony of "extreme Pacifism" is its failure to see that it actually allows and promotes more evil throughout the world. Baker does a masterful job; but, from a Christian worldview that holds to "just war theory," I'm unpersuaded by his emotional appeal.
