I am a Pacific Northwesterner who loves the mountains, evergreen trees, and the ocean. A perfect mix of rain and sunshine keeps me happy in my little corner of the world - never too hot and never too cold and only the occasional snowfall! I am married to my soulmate, have two awesome kids, and love teaching. Family time and sit-down dinners are a MUST in our crazy, busy schedule. Summers are the best, because that means more time for reading and writing!

Amethyst , my first novel, and the first in the Guardian Series, is a spell-binding, young adult, urban fantasy laced with paranormal elements and a love story. You can download the eBook for FREE at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and iBooks.

Linked , is the second novel in the Guardian

I actually laughed a lot and enjoyed this book. You just have to get past the stereotyping of gifted kids and normal kids, and you'll probably like it too.

I have a gifted kiddo myself, so while some qualities and traits of the gifted characters seem

"

I borrowed this book from a student who had liked it, and since I teach gifted kids, I wanted to read it. I also read some criticism about it on a gifted education website, so I was curious about that. I thought the premise of the story was funny..." Read more of this review »

Well, I grew up seeing Ivan often, as my dad loved to shop at the B&I. So, Ivan holds a special place in my heart, and this book captures how I imagine Ivan felt in that awful cage. He always looked so sad, lonely, and bored. My 4th and 5th grade ...more

"I wanted to like this book more than I did. Overall, I found the book to be melancholy and the characters little too anthropomorphic. I think the story could have been richer if it hadn't humanized the characters so much. Even so, it was a fast re..." Read more of this review »

I'm sorry, I don't think I've ever given a book a one star. But this was so dumbed-down, ridiculous and so unoriginal, I'm flabbergasted.

As an elementary librarian, this year I am reading all the YRC nominated books so I can be completely involved an
