“If the human mind can understand the universe, it means the human mind is fundamentally of the same order as the divine mind. If the human mind is of the same order as the divine mind, then everything that appeared rational to God as he constructed the universe, it's “geometry,” can also be made to appear rational to the human understanding, and so if we search and think hard enough, we can find a rational explanation and underpinning for everything. This is the fundamental proposition of science.”

It was okay for Andrew and Alyssa to play at love when they were younger. Now that they're adults? The fact that she's the daughter of his father's mistress makes her unsuitable for more than a courtesan herself. But Andrew's not only a business g...

In using this book for research purposes, I've been delighted with the wealth of practical information it offers. The Case For Mars is a history lesson, a speculative thesis, a business proposal, and a visionary rally cry—all in one. The author lays...more |

Thanks for accepting the invite, Chryssa! :)
I always like to consider the opinions of people who share such similar tastes in books. ^_^ Thank you in advance for taking part in helping me decide what I should read next. ;) I hope my reviews might be of some use to you as well.
Good point. :)I'm actually not surprised on the difference of opinion in the HG series. I thought the second one was VERY similar to the first, and I know many people who found that disappointing and non-progressive. And with the last book being more centered on the war than on the characters, I think the high-action/stratagem of it appealed more to males, generally speaking. (My theory, anyway.)
But yes, anyways...enjoy your weekend! ^_^
Well there are like 4 billion books so even having a handful in common is pretty hard to do. Even funnier we were opposite of thinking which hunger games sequal was not so good. Any hoozal-have a good memorial weekend!
Thank YOU for the invite, B.P. ^_^ I'm pleased to meet you. And I hope my ratings/reviews might be helpful to you in prioritizing your to-read list. We seem to have fairly similar tastes in the books we've both read--not an easy thing to come by, in my experience.
