About this author

Barry was born in the United Kingdom.

He discovered that once he began writing about the heroes of his stories; Daniel Raymond and Agathon, that they began to take over a little bit of his reality too. He spends the daytime like most mortals, working and shopping, however he also tries to bring a more realistic presence to the characters by involving them in real life scenarios and seeing how they would react. He's thankful that they haven't started talking to him.

I've been having a good think recently about what project to take on next and I was happy to go with my 'Trophy Project', but I've shelved it again.

Instead, I'm going to begin work on my 'Forgotten Project'. Next week I'llformalizethe overview I made long ago and get all the notes slotted in the right places and I'm sure like the other novels, it'll completely change half way through the story... Read more of this blog post »

This is a very dramatic story where the enemy/ies have had a long time to be ready for most happenings. Although the protagonist is gay, this story isn't a typical gay fictional story and could be enjoyed by anyone. Much liked.

Barry Smith Dear and sweet owners of Goodreads. I'm tired constantly removing books from my profile that were not written by me. Sort it out yourself in future.

Barry Smith I have over 100 unread novels in my Kindle. My outgoings are far exceeding my intake :(

On a good point, I got a load of books to read sometime :)

Butterfly Thanks for telling me. I will download it :)!

Barry Smith One of the things I find strange in life.

I love to read coyboy and ranch stories. I could read them every day forever. Me and my partner go to gay cowboy nights and I have all the necessary things to be an immitation cowboy. I used to work on a horse ranch.

But considering all this, I love to write science fiction.

Maybe some day I'll get around to a combo between the two, but I suspect not. It wouldn't work.

Butterfly Thanks for adding me. I like to read about mythology books. But most of them are on my language so can't find them on GR.

message 18: by Barry

Barry Smith Last night I began to close book two. It's been difficult to decide how far to go without treading from one book to another so I'm going to have to work out where this book closes.

message 15: by Barry

Barry Smith Next year, I'll set a higher goal on my reading challenge. Maybe 60-75 would be prudent.

message 14: by Barry

Barry Smith I'm just not getting the quality reading time recently. It seems housework, work and other things are swamping me.

Barry Smith I have to be crazy. Not yet hearing from the publisher I've ploughed straight into book two and already completed the opening chapter.

message 7: by Barry

Barry Smith My first novel is in it's final days and I hope to release soon. :)

message 6: by Barry

Barry Smith Finally having had the nerve to write a story I've been thinking about for some time. It amazes me how much time it takes to build a background to the characters.

Not to mention establishing the protagonists life.

Chapter 2 draft completed today.

message 3: by Barry

Barry Smith Amazon's Kindle shop is really getting destroyed with 'con jobs'. Basically someone will write a 'novel' of around 85 words and slap on a flashy cover in anticipation of abusing others funds.

Amazon please let me block them from search results.

Barry Smith To from such a long novel to a normal one, the normal length one seems so short.
