I'm a writer and a dreamer. My latest short story was shortlisted in the top three of the 2016 Ruth Rendell Writing award, judged by Lynda La Plante. Some of my short stories have been published in Australian anthologies:

Harper Collins - "Enter"
Ginninderra Press - "The Lunatic, the Lover and the Poet"
Harlequin/MIRA press - "Scarlet Stiletto - The First Cut".

...and some of my novels have won awards.

The Everything Theory - IP Picks 2009
Let Sleeping Gods Lie - IP Picks 2007
Soul's Child - YouWriteOn Book of the Year 2012

Dianne Gray and 5 other people liked Tanya's review of Working Class Boy:
Working Class Boy by Jimmy Barnes
"I picked up this book as a fan of Barnesy and Cold Chisel, and I guess expecting a story of the man behind the band, how they came to be, anecdotes from thd road, that type of thing.

What I got instead, however, was the hard hitting story of a boy..." Read more of this review »

This is an amazing journey through immigration, alcoholism, domestic violence, anger, torment and fear. The descriptions of the people in Jimmy’s early life are wonderfully drawn and I think I fell in love with the shining light of Reg along the way ...more
Let Sleeping Gods Lie by Dianne F. Gray
"Dianne Gray’s novel Let Sleeping Gods Lie fascinated me. It first grabbed me with the best landscape descriptions I’ve read in a long time. The story takes place in Australia, specifically, Far North Queensland: “Spindly trees stretched high above..." Read more of this review »
Let Sleeping Gods Lie by Dianne F. Gray
"Wow! That’s all I can say. The language and metaphors in this story stunned me. Dianne Gray has a gift for description and showing normal, bland everyday scenes in new ways that make them come alive. This story deals with a girl who is honoring he..." Read more of this review »

“You know, bullying," her mother began. "I see it every day. Kids get bullied at school, they get cyber bullied, text bullied, Myface bullied."
"Oh, God!" Arista groaned. "It's My Space or Facebook. Not Myface.”
