I have to say that I enjoyed reading about Quint and Sin'Jin. I found Quint to be humorous and quirky, as well as intelligent, loyal, and incredibly sweet. I like Sin'Jin as well, and I felt like he actually came alive at the ending scene where is talking to himself about how to fix things with Quint. I think that that scene showed us him as he was supposed to be: a highly driven, logical, an alpha male. For me, it was easy to see why he was so successful because of the way he worked through his personal problem.
I think in time, the author will be very successful. For a first work, it is very good. Although some scenes were slightly off--it didn't seem very true to the character, I still think that it was a successful work. It may have been intentional, but in spite of it, it (meaning the book) worked as a whole. I look forward to reading more from this author.
