About this author

Poet , law graduate, ex civil servant. Member of The Poetry Society. My poetry is modern, traditional, mythical, sometimes erotic. I experiment with language and form to convey atmosphere, imagery, rhythm and themes. I see the world as metaphysical, mythical and surreal. My poetry portrays the relationships between people interacting in our natural and industrial landscape, alienated by technology and individual greed. Love, romance, environment, nostalgia, history and politics merge into this reality and fantasy of modern times. For my published poetry books: Aspects Of Love; Inside Out, Mavericks, Wooded Windows and Pomegranate Flesh see

Lo Jerry! Thankye for accepting my friend request on here. Coooool overlaps. Hardy is my favourite novelist..especially Tess and The Return Of The Native. Chandler..superb in that genre..love Bogart and Bacall..The Big Sleep..fantastic dialogue and so many memorable scenes. My favourite poets are Seamus Heaney and W B Yeats but so many others living and dead run them close in certain poems. Joyce's Dubliner's is a good book of short stories to dip into. A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man is short but brilliant..enjoy it for yourself! Ulysees http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulysses_..., like Cervantes Don Quixote, is best savoured at one's leisure. I love stream of consciousness.

I have been a Manchester United fan since the age of three and grew up four hundred metres from Old Trafford.

Thankye and take care...Strider

Jerry Buckley Thanks for "friending" me mate. I see we have some overlapping literary inerests; Hardy, Kafka, Raymond Chandler. Tell me... I've wanted to dive into reading James Joyce, but have always gotten bogged down and given up. Which of his writings to you recommend for a Yank?

Who is your football side? I am an ex-player, and a high schools and collegiate referee.

Cheers.... Jerry

Thanks...... Jerry
