About this author

I've loved writing since I was about 7 years old. And after reading so many great books over the years, I'm inspired to write a few of my own. "Queens are Wild" (2012, Smashwords) is actually my third novel, but the first I've put out there for a worldwide audience. "Streaks of Blue: How the Angels of Newtown Inspired One Girl to Save Her School" will be my next book and it should be out before December 2013.

I'm finally going to put "Queens are Wild" into paperback form, hopefully sometime this summer on Amazon's CreateSpace. It’s about time I got the book onto Amazon. Ida Jansson, a talented Norwegian designer, is going to begin crafting a new cover late next week with Margeaux Quigley on it and more emphasis on a poker theme. It'll be exciting to see what she comes up with. You can check out her... Read more of this blog post »

Carrie Penney added a status update: He doesn't have a goodreads, I don't think I've seen him read a novel, but growing up he read to me plenty. Bedtime stories, just because stories and whenever I wanted a new book I was never denied. This person is my daddy, and today is his birthday, I just thought I'd share. So happy birthday daddy even though you won't see it here. :)
"Congrats Nenia!"

“Suddenly Adam (Upton) hated death just as much as he hated life, and now he had absolutely no idea how to unsolve that equation.

-- From my upcoming novel "Streaks of Blue: How the Angels of Newtown Inspired One Girl to Save Her School.”

“How do you tell your mom you're following your dream when it's the one that warned you to befriend a psychotic boy before he shoots up your school?
-- from the upcoming "Streaks of Blue”
Jack Chaucer

“I write because it’s a way of puzzling out answers to situations in the world that I don’t understand. The act of writing a book gives me the same experience that I hope reading it gives readers. It forces me to sort through the various points of view on a given issue or situation and ultimately come to a conclusion. Doing that might not change my mind, but it almost always gives me a stronger sense of why my opinion is what it is—a question we rarely ask ourselves.”
Jodi Picoult

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one.”
George R.R. Martin, A Dance With Dragons

“That is what a book is: a million little things, a thousand feelings, hundreds of experiences, all melted together and sculpted into a book-shaped vessel.”
Beth Revis, Shades of Earth

“Suddenly Adam (Upton) hated death just as much as he hated life, and now he had absolutely no idea how to unsolve that equation.

“Quote from “FUTURE GONE”:

“…I set the house on fire. It’s dark outside. The fire tears down the darkness. I turn my back to the place and leave, not knowing where.
And suddenly I understand…
All dreams are dead now”.”

Jack Chaucer You're welcome Alex. If you are ever in the mood for a quick read with a teenage girl protagonist who gets hijacked by a mysterious man from 1984 to 2036, here's a free coupon code for my e-book "Queens are Wild" -- aa68x. It was just spotlighted by some bloggers in Australia, where the antagonist is from. It's not Dany and her dragons, but it's pretty entertaining. That code is good through 12-31-12. Enjoy :)
