About this author

Marie Sarantakis is fluent in Greek and English. She was home-schooled throughout much of her education and enrolled at Carthage College at the early age of sixteen. Marie Sarantakis graduated from Carthage College, magna cum laude, and studied political science, philosophy, and the sociology of religion as a Clausen Scholar.

In 2007 she was recognized with a Patterson Leadership Award. Soon thereafter she was named a Wingspread Fellow of the Johnson Foundation. Miss Sarantakis has presented her research before the Wisconsin Institute for Peace & Conflict Resolution Studies, Society for the Scientific Study of Religion, and American Sociological Association.
