About this author

Hi, my name is Verna Humphrey and I am the author of three stories. My first story is featured in the book of "Hillbilly Tales of the Smoky Mountains." It is called THE RETURN TO GREEN COVE. It is based right after the Civil War and is a light romance.

My second story is called SMALL TOWN GIRL and is a short story featured in a second book called "Past Present and Promises." This story features a young woman searching for her own identity while trying to put behind a horrible past.

My current story is featured in "Southern Mystical Moments" and it is called MAGIC under THE WILLOW TREE and the story focuses on voodoo in Louisiana.

Waiting to see the new book ,can,t believe it is really about ready for the readers to view it,. the weather is changing in our mountains,we see signs of fall everywhere.with the cooler weather ,Patti and i will have more time to devote to our writing, since we both are outdoor people.hope all our friends will be as happy as we are with the new book, thanks to ya,ll for supporting us.

“Never let it be said that dialect is a reflection of intellect.
On the contrary, it is a reflection of the deep traditional values of a culture that respects family, God, and a
language system above everything else. I give thanks to my maker that I’m a Southern woman.”

“I cannot see myself nowhere, except to be living in the land of books. Somewhere on a distant island exists an intellegence of pure thought, but a heart of an angel.
