This book was another great classic which has held up well. Rufus is such a likeable character and the episodic adventures were extremely fun & charming!

Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life by Wendy Mass
Wendy Mass is great writer, the characters were completely believable and fun. At first, I thought the plot was a bit too contrived until I got to the end and realized it was supposed to be contrived! The ending saved it for me and I was happily sati...more

The Small Adventure of Popeye and Elvis by Barbara O'Connor
From the size of the actual book (it's just a bit smaller than standard, perfect for smaller hands) to the characters to the storyline and vocabulary words this book is charming, charming, charming.

The London Eye Mystery by Siobhan Dowd
This book was great! One of the best MG mysteries I've read, with dimensional characters and no annoying loose ends. Really impressed and was incredibly sad when I looked up the author and realized she was deceased.

“Whenever I see her, we laugh enough to last for the month. She's my best friend, and someday when we're old enough I'm going to talk her into staying here forever.”

“If you make happy those that are near, those that are far will come.”
Grace Lin, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon

“She's my friend, the boy said simply. That's who she is and that's enough for me. As Minli looked at the buffalo boy, aglow with happiness against his poor surroundings, she saw it was enough for him. More than enough, as the smile that kept curling up on his face told her.”

(I tried to include all the books we have read, along with the books mentioned on our "the others good and up" thread, and a few on the Newbery 2010 list on goodreads. If, however, I have not included a book you want to vote for just send me a message or write a comment. I will add it to the list.)
