Laura Stamps's Blog
August 22, 2010
That’s right. My blog has moved to http://www.erotica-laurastamps.blogsp... . Squeeeeeee! And I absolutely love this new site. Yes, I do! *happy dance, happy dance*
Here’s what happened. I started this naughty author blog in June 2008 at LiveJournal. And that’s where it remained until November 2009 when my ex-agent moved it to the new site he built for me (www.LauraStamps.com).
However, as you know, he and I parted ways in March 2010. We had lots of problems, but the main problem was a lack of communication. He never really understood what I needed as an erotica novelist. Instead the site he built for me is a beautiful site for an entertainer, which is what he thought I should be. He had plans for me to do all kinds of things like a weekly internet show, reviews of sex toys, yadda yadda. The thing is I’m not an entertainer. I’m an erotica novelist, and none of the stuff he wanted me to do involved writing my books. Thus, his site never met my needs as an author.
Alex and I have talked about this, and when we finish getting all the new ebooks published and in the Kindle Store and in pdf on my books site (http://www.avampskiss.blogspot.com) we’re gonna dive into a major redesign of www.LauraStamps.com. That will happen next year.
In the meantime, I decided to move my blog now. That way there won’t be any interruption in my blog posts when Alex and I get down to the nitty-gritty of fixing LauraStamps.com. Not to mention I just got back to blogging about my sex life last week, and I don’t wanna be thrown off my regular blog-and-novel-writing schedule AGAIN. It’s making me crazy! So I built this gorgeous, totally fun site just for my blog.
Yay!
Okay, let me give you a “tour” and tell why I adore it.
First of all, I love this website template. Yes, I do! The layout is clean and simple, and the font is clear and easy to read. Hey, I’m a simple slut, ya know? To be honest, I was never completely happy with the light grainy texture of the font on www.LauraStamps.com. Sometimes it was hard for me to read. And if that happened to me I figured it had to be a problem for some of you, too. Alex, my ex-agent, and I discussed it, but there was nothing that could be done about that hard-to-read font.
Second, my book covers (both ebook and paperback) run across the top of the site in a slideshow thingy. Squeeeeeee! I’ve ALWAYS wanted something like that. I think it’s just soooo cool! ;)
The sidebar rocks as well. There you’ll find info about “My Books Website,” which is a live link to that site. “My Books in the Kindle Store” is also a live link. “My Mailing List” tells you how and why it’s important to get on my email list to keep up with this fast-moving slut (lol). Next there’s a box that helps you share this blog on Facebook or Twitter. And a live link to the www.LauraStamps.com site so you can read the “Older Posts from this Blog.”
Then we come to another one of my fav features. All the covers of my books in the Kindle Store are in the sidebar as well. Not only did I add a short line of description under each one, but I also made the covers live links to those books in the Kindle Store.
How cool is that?!
Beneath the book covers is my Twitter feed, so you can see some of the naughty things this SexWitch says every day on my fav social media site (okay, I’m a TOTAL Twitter addict). Then there’s a box where you can “Subscribe to Erotica by Laura Stamps” (the name of this new blog site), and you’re given six options to do that (Atom, Google, Yahoo, etc.).
Is this a fab site or what?!!
I’m even thinking I may illustrate every blog post with one of the beautiful book covers Alex (Kittyfeather Press) and Dave (Trytium Publishing) designed for me.
I dunno. We’ll see.
In the meantime, enjoy this new home for my naughty blog. In fact, do me a favor and leave a comment, telling me what you think about it. My inquiring mind wants to know. Hey, whatever makes my readers happy makes this slutty novelist happy, too. No doubt about it! *naughty wink*

If you wondered why my Wednesday blog post didn’t go up on Wednesday this is why. It takes 3-4 days for books to go live on Kindle once you enter them in the system. When I found out this HAWT series would be coming out last week, I decided to make my blog post about it. But I wanted to wait until all three of the books in this series were up on Kindle and on my site in pdf.
And now they are. Squeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Dontcha love these hunky covers? Alex is AMAZING at everything she does for me, and her cover design is no exception. LOVE these!
Okay, this is the erotica trilogy that has been waiting, waiting, waiting for two years now at two other publishers. One publisher went out of biz rather suddenly in March of 2009. The other one just couldn’t get its act together in 2010 and publish my books. So Kittyfeather took over, and now Wynn’s and Noelle’s erotic series is live. Yay!
Here’s what its about:
“The Rune Witch Series is an erotica novella trilogy, featuring Noelle (a feisty alpha Rune Witch) and her HAWT boyfriend Wynn (a sexy shapeshifter). Wynn and Noelle appeared in two of "The Witchery Series" novels ("What Witches Want" and "Call of the Witches") as secondary characters. Now this lusty couple has a series of their own, which takes place during the hot summer months of August and September in sultry South Carolina. Follow these two as they go from one sexcapade to the next, while Wynn tries everything he can think of to convince commitment-phobic Noelle to marry him. Good thing he never plays fair (naughty grin). Keep a cold drink handy for this series. You're gonna need it!”
1.) "Sex Magick: Book One of the Rune Witch Series" ($1.99)
Noelle Wylie is a Rune Witch, and at thirty-five she’s got it all. This year she bought her dream home. Then she let Wynn, her darkly handsome, shapeshifter boyfriend move in. One evening Wynn gives Noelle a book on “sex magick.” Intrigued, she decides to give it a try. However, just as she experiences some of the best sex of her life she discovers Wynn has a hidden agenda. Uh-oh!
2.) "Bewitched at the Beach: Book Two of the Rune Witch Series" ($1.99)
In this erotica novella Wynn is offered a long weekend trip to Hilton Head Island by his vampire boss, Drayton Manigault (from "A Vampire's Kiss"). Of course, Wynn and Noelle jump at the chance. However the corporate beach house where they spend this three-day sexfest may never be the same again! *lusty grin*
3.) "The Harvest Moon: Book Three of the Rune Witch Series" ($1.99)
After their neighbor, Savannah, has her a handfasting/wedding, Noelle and Wynn are left in charge of cleaning up Savannah’s house. Of course, all work and no play threatens to make Noelle a cranky girl. Horrors! Thankfully, Wynn isn’t about to let that happen, so he seduces her with edible bubble bath, light bondage, sex, sex, and more sex. Everything is coming up roses for those two until Noelle discovers she’s let the cat out of the bag. Kinda.
"Using hot description and erotic romance, Stamps brings to life a funny, new couple with brilliant and smooth writing. Highly recommended. The Rune Witch Series is a must read!" (Lindsay Allison, Book Reviewer for Thoughts From Lindsay)
"Five Alarm hot! FAB-U-LOUS!!!!! I think my monitor just melted. Stamps is entering Lora Leigh territory now. I needed a fire extinguisher for this one! Very, very nice work." (Auntee, #4 Best Reviewer at Goodreads)

A review of “A Vampire’s Kiss” and a cool interview with me came out on Friday on the Maybe Tomorrow? website (http://www.xxbetty.blogspot.com). Beth Tyler did an awesome job with both, so I thought I would run them today as my Tuesday blog post.
Just in case you’re wondering, I did NOT behave myself in the interview. Not my fault! I’ve got strippers-on-the-brain syndrome. Although I‘d much rather have them on another part of my bod. Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrr….!
Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
REVIEW
“A Vampire’s Kiss” tells the story of Sara and Dray. Sara is a Wiccan Green Witch and Dray is the owner of Manigault Technologies, and just happens to be a vampire. Which vampire-obsessed Sara is completely clueless about. Throw in a meeting at a friend’s party and sparks begin to fly, and watch out – because they’re hot.
Sara is certainly a girl who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go ahead and grab it! She has the kind of confidence many of us wish we had! And Dray, oh my! I may have a new fictional boyfriend!
Laura has chosen an interesting method here, choosing to serialize the book rather than release one full novel. I think it’s a really fun idea! The thought that you have a new installment waiting for you each month!
One thing’s for sure, she sure knows how to enthrall her readers! “A Vampire’s Kiss” was a decadently delicious read and I highly recommend it to fans of erotica/paranormal romance!
INTERVIEW
Thank you for choosing Maybe Tomorrow? to review the first two parts of your new novel serialization, “A Vampire's Kiss.”
1.) Before we start, would you like to tell us a bit about yourself?
I'm a SexWitch (Wiccan Faery Witch), empath, psychic, and paranormal erotica novelist. I also have a reputation across the web as a shameless slut. All true. Thus, my branding, which is me. But I can't help it. I'm like the wild girl in an erotica novel...addicted to lust, sex-obsessed, very sexually active, kinky as hell. Yeah, I have a realllllly good time. *exhibitionist grin*
2. For people who are new to your writing, like me, can you explain what the basis for this series is about?
I write four paranormal series. Three are trilogies, and one is not. "The Witchery Series" is a trilogy and the only series of mine that spans from empowering to romantic to erotic. "The Rune Witch Series" and "The Faery Witch Series" are erotica trilogies. "The Manigault Vampires" is also erotica and the only series of mine that is not a trilogy. It may go on for 10 novels or more. Who knows? Not me. I'm just the writer. I let my characters rule. lol
3. How did you get into writing? I understand you started off writing poetry, how did you make the transition from that to full novels?
I started out as an artist and majored in art in college. Since I switched to writing 23 years ago I only do the occasional cover for my novels (the covers of all "The Witchery Series" are my paintings). But art never really satisfied me 100%. The first thing I wrote was a poem when I was 30. And that was it. I was hooked. I became a very successful small press literary poet with numerous poetry books published by several publishers and won lots of awards. I never intended to write fiction. I always thought I would be a poet. I was happy like that and making a good living at it.
Then one night as I was falling asleep a few lines came to me. Many, many writers keep a pad of paper and a pen next to their beds to catch those lines, because you'll never remember them in the morning. As I reached for a pen and paper I realized these weren't the first lines of a poem. They were the first lines of a short story. Yikes! I'd never written fiction before, but suddenly the first three paragraphs of this story poured out of me. It shocked me so much I sat up in bed completely awake. Then I wrote it all down. That was 1996. I wrote several short stories after that, and surprisingly they were snapped up by magazines faster than my poems.
However the thing about a short story is that it's NOT the same as a novel. Not even close. They are totally different animals. That's why some of your fav novelists suck at novellas and short stories. That's also why authors specialize in short story collections or novels. Rarely both. They are totally different in structure. A short story is more like a poem. It's small and compact with a tight beginning and end. A novel stretches for 20-40 chapters. It's like a long winding river filled with millions details that all have to make sense to the reader. Regardless, I knew one day I would write novels. But I couldn't see all the way to the end of that river. Being Pagan, I didn't push it. I knew it would happen when the timing was right.
And seven years later in 2003 it did. The "Mirabella" section" of "The Witches of Dixie" suddenly came to me out of the blue one day. It was like all the sudden here was the title ("Evergreen"). Then the next day here was the name of the main character, Mirabella. The next day Mirabella started talking, and the novel poured out. Three months later it was finished and published. And I've never looked back.
Some poets continue to write poetry after they publish novels. And some poets become novelists and never write poetry again. That would be me. Being an erotica novelist is IT for me. It satisfies me 100%.
4. You've written a previous series, The Witchery Series, can you tell us about that?
The first novel, "The Witches of Dixie: Book One of the Witchery Series," is actually an anthology of the first 4 novels and novellas in that series ("Evergreen" is one of them). In "The Witches of Dixie," you meet four Witches who are struggling with marriage, business, and financial problems. They use their Pagan faith and empowering principles to pull through and overcome. Yeah, this is a very empowering book. No romance or sex in this one. It's just a very empowering novel for women.
In "What Witches Want: Book Two of the Witchery Series" one of the Witches is recovering from an abusive marriage and painful divorce. In the course of healing herself she meets a sexy two-natured man and finds true love. This is a sweet romance with tasteful sex and the most yummmmmy hero. Yowza!
In "Call of the Witches: Book Three of the Witchery Series" the heroine is tired of being plagued with bad-news boyfriends. She takes a two-year vow of celibacy and spends that time learning how to empower herself so she will be attracted to a good guy for a change. Three months before her celibacy vow ends she runs into a Wiccan Green Witch, who happens to be the sweetest, sexiest man she's ever met. Sparks fly, and her libido sizzles. In this book I thought it would be fun to write an erotica novel about a celibate heroine. Believe it or not, I find plenty of ways for her to have lots of erotic sex in this one. For many it is their favorite of the series. The romance is sweet, and the sex is smokin' hot!
So like I said earlier, you'll find something for everyone in this series. I think that's why it's done so well since the day it was published. I should also mention I sell signed copies of this series on the "A Vampire's Kiss" site (the info is in the sidebar http://www.avampskiss.blogspot.com), and I include verrrry naughty personalizations in those books. Of course. *wicked grin*
5. Did you have “A Vampire's Kiss” in mind when you were writing "The Witchery Series"? What pushed you in the direction of "A Vampire's Kiss"?
No. All my novels are character-driven, meaning my characters tell the story. Not me. I knew I wanted to do a vampire series, but I had no idea how it would happen. Then one day Wynn started talking about his boss at Manigault Technologies, Drayton Manigault, who just happens to be a vampire. What?! I didn't know that. Alrightyyyy! The entire vamp series took off from there.
6. “A Vampire's Kiss” is being released in monthly installments, which I think is a novel idea and one I've never seen or heard of before. What made you decide to run with this idea?
Actually, in the old days many of the classic novels by authors we know so well (Charles Dickens, etc.) were published as serials. Stephen King has done it with several of his novels. In my case, I had just survived a nightmare in my career that would turn most novelists' hair gray. No, I'm not talking about a yucky cover (yeah, we all have nightmares about that *lol), but close.
In the 23 years I have been a fulltime writer I've always made sure 2-4 new books of mine came out every year from my various publishers. I was on track in 2009 for 4 new novels and novellas to come out. But in March my ebook publisher went out of business weeks before one of my spin-off series ("The Rune Witch Series") was to be published. I had just finished the first draft of "A Vampire's Kiss" in February. That meant I had to stop working on that novel and find a new publisher for "The Rune Witch Series." My naughty blog was also being made into a memoir series. I have had agents off and on during my career, but at that time didn't have one. I knew I wanted one for that memoir series so it would go to a good nonfiction publisher. I settled on an agent in June, and he found a good publisher for the memoir series and my spin-off novel series.
Everything seemed to be going well. Or so I thought. Then everything bogged down in September. By March of this year I had gone 16 months without a new book. Horrors! And not for lack of trying or writing new books. Just one case after another of publisher constipation.
Then Kittyfeather Press offered me the opportunity to publish "The Manigault Vampires" as a serial, and I jumped at it. You've gotta admit it's the perfect reward for all my loyal fans who went 16 months without a new book from me. Now, because of what Kittyfeather Press has done, they get hot vampire erotica from me every month in this serial format. How cool is that? At first people were kinda shocked, because it is unusual. But now everyone loves the idea, and my fans wait anxiously from month to month for the next installment. So it's become a huge hit, and I'm having a blast with it.
7. What made you choose vampires as your next avenue to explore?
That's easy. Vampires are sex-on-a-stick. Duh. *lol* I already have Witches, a shapeshifter, and several two-natured Fey characters. I wanted a vampire series because I thought it would work well with my Witches, which it has. Plus, I got to create this fabulous vampire world in Columbia. Dray is 145 years old. He was turned during the Civil War in Charleston, South Carolina. So I get to go into a bit of history when Sara learns his true identify. Big fun!
8. I've read that some authors find it impossible to write without putting a little bit of themselves in what they write. Do you agree with this? If so what characteristics of yourself do you see in your characters?
Some do, and some don't. For me, my characters have always been fictional. But there are certain subjects I know about, Pagan and not, that I want to explore in a novel. However that doesn't mean the heroine is me. For example, Mirabella is the typical artist. Starting out as an artist I know plenty about that life and biz. So she is a composite of about 20 artists I know.
On the other hand, "A Vampire's Kiss" is a first for me in many respects. It is the first novel of mine where the h/h refused to follow my outline. No kidding. Dray and Sara are such a great couple and the chemistry between them is so intense they wanted to tell their story their way. I ended up throwing away my outline after 20 chapters and let them run wild with the book. Consequently, they did an awesome job with it.
The other first is the character of Sara. Dray is soooo yummy. I thought it would be fun to make Sara a clone of me. So Sara is me. I've never done that before. But you know what that means, right? I get to fuck yummy Dray over and over and over again. Ah, life is good! *sex-obsessed grin* Those fans of mine who know me get a real kick out of Sara because she is soooo ME! lol
9. Finally, if you could pack up and leave for one week, where would you go and why?
Is this fantasy or reality? If it's fantasy I would grab Chippendale's stripper Kevin Cornell and disappear into the sunset as fast as my little bunny slippers could take me. Damn, that man is HAWT! If he's busy that week I'd settle for Donovan of Thunder From Down Under. Yummmy! Okay, I have a thing for young strippers. But I've always thought being a cougar was a GOOD thing, ya know?
However, if we're talking reality, I'd go to one of my fav vacation places with my long-suffering husband, Wes. Asheville, North Carolina, or Manhattan. Both have great art galleries, bookstores, and restaurants.
The Kevin Cornell thing sounds much better, doesn't it? Okay, being the delusional slut that I am I'll take that choice. See ya! *dashing of into the sunset with a gorgeous YOUNG stripper*
Thanks again to Laura for taking the time out to participate in this interview! It really was a treat coming up with the interview questions and reading Laura's responses! And it made it extra special by the fact Laura is the first author to be interviewed for Maybe Tomorrow?!
REVIEW
“A Vampire’s Kiss” tells the story of Sara and Dray. Sara is a Wiccan Green Witch and Dray is the owner of Manigault Technologies, and just happens to be a vampire. Which vampire-obsessed Sara is completely clueless about. Throw in a meeting at a friend’s party and sparks begin to fly, and watch out – because they’re hot.
Sara is certainly a girl who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go ahead and grab it! She has the kind of confidence many of us wish we had! And Dray, oh my! I may have a new fictional boyfriend!
Laura has chosen an interesting method here, choosing to serialize the book rather than release one full novel. I think it’s a really fun idea! The thought that you have a new installment waiting for you each month!
One thing’s for sure, she sure knows how to enthrall her readers! “A Vampire’s Kiss” was a decadently delicious read and I highly recommend it to fans of erotica/paranormal romance!
INTERVIEW
Thank you for choosing Maybe Tomorrow? to review the first two parts of your new novel serialization, “A Vampire's Kiss.”
1.) Before we start, would you like to tell us a bit about yourself?
I'm a SexWitch (Wiccan Faery Witch), empath, psychic, and paranormal erotica novelist. I also have a reputation across the web as a shameless slut. All true. Thus, my branding, which is me. But I can't help it. I'm like the wild girl in an erotica novel...addicted to lust, sex-obsessed, very sexually active, kinky as hell. Yeah, I have a realllllly good time. *exhibitionist grin*
2. For people who are new to your writing, like me, can you explain what the basis for this series is about?
I write four paranormal series. Three are trilogies, and one is not. "The Witchery Series" is a trilogy and the only series of mine that spans from empowering to romantic to erotic. "The Rune Witch Series" and "The Faery Witch Series" are erotica trilogies. "The Manigault Vampires" is also erotica and the only series of mine that is not a trilogy. It may go on for 10 novels or more. Who knows? Not me. I'm just the writer. I let my characters rule. lol
3. How did you get into writing? I understand you started off writing poetry, how did you make the transition from that to full novels?
I started out as an artist and majored in art in college. Since I switched to writing 23 years ago I only do the occasional cover for my novels (the covers of all "The Witchery Series" are my paintings). But art never really satisfied me 100%. The first thing I wrote was a poem when I was 30. And that was it. I was hooked. I became a very successful small press literary poet with numerous poetry books published by several publishers and won lots of awards. I never intended to write fiction. I always thought I would be a poet. I was happy like that and making a good living at it.
Then one night as I was falling asleep a few lines came to me. Many, many writers keep a pad of paper and a pen next to their beds to catch those lines, because you'll never remember them in the morning. As I reached for a pen and paper I realized these weren't the first lines of a poem. They were the first lines of a short story. Yikes! I'd never written fiction before, but suddenly the first three paragraphs of this story poured out of me. It shocked me so much I sat up in bed completely awake. Then I wrote it all down. That was 1996. I wrote several short stories after that, and surprisingly they were snapped up by magazines faster than my poems.
However the thing about a short story is that it's NOT the same as a novel. Not even close. They are totally different animals. That's why some of your fav novelists suck at novellas and short stories. That's also why authors specialize in short story collections or novels. Rarely both. They are totally different in structure. A short story is more like a poem. It's small and compact with a tight beginning and end. A novel stretches for 20-40 chapters. It's like a long winding river filled with millions details that all have to make sense to the reader. Regardless, I knew one day I would write novels. But I couldn't see all the way to the end of that river. Being Pagan, I didn't push it. I knew it would happen when the timing was right.
And seven years later in 2003 it did. The "Mirabella" section" of "The Witches of Dixie" suddenly came to me out of the blue one day. It was like all the sudden here was the title ("Evergreen"). Then the next day here was the name of the main character, Mirabella. The next day Mirabella started talking, and the novel poured out. Three months later it was finished and published. And I've never looked back.
Some poets continue to write poetry after they publish novels. And some poets become novelists and never write poetry again. That would be me. Being an erotica novelist is IT for me. It satisfies me 100%.
4. You've written a previous series, The Witchery Series, can you tell us about that?
The first novel, "The Witches of Dixie: Book One of the Witchery Series," is actually an anthology of the first 4 novels and novellas in that series ("Evergreen" is one of them). In "The Witches of Dixie," you meet four Witches who are struggling with marriage, business, and financial problems. They use their Pagan faith and empowering principles to pull through and overcome. Yeah, this is a very empowering book. No romance or sex in this one. It's just a very empowering novel for women.
In "What Witches Want: Book Two of the Witchery Series" one of the Witches is recovering from an abusive marriage and painful divorce. In the course of healing herself she meets a sexy two-natured man and finds true love. This is a sweet romance with tasteful sex and the most yummmmmy hero. Yowza!
In "Call of the Witches: Book Three of the Witchery Series" the heroine is tired of being plagued with bad-news boyfriends. She takes a two-year vow of celibacy and spends that time learning how to empower herself so she will be attracted to a good guy for a change. Three months before her celibacy vow ends she runs into a Wiccan Green Witch, who happens to be the sweetest, sexiest man she's ever met. Sparks fly, and her libido sizzles. In this book I thought it would be fun to write an erotica novel about a celibate heroine. Believe it or not, I find plenty of ways for her to have lots of erotic sex in this one. For many it is their favorite of the series. The romance is sweet, and the sex is smokin' hot!
So like I said earlier, you'll find something for everyone in this series. I think that's why it's done so well since the day it was published. I should also mention I sell signed copies of this series on the "A Vampire's Kiss" site (the info is in the sidebar http://www.avampskiss.blogspot.com), and I include verrrry naughty personalizations in those books. Of course. *wicked grin*
5. Did you have “A Vampire's Kiss” in mind when you were writing "The Witchery Series"? What pushed you in the direction of "A Vampire's Kiss"?
No. All my novels are character-driven, meaning my characters tell the story. Not me. I knew I wanted to do a vampire series, but I had no idea how it would happen. Then one day Wynn started talking about his boss at Manigault Technologies, Drayton Manigault, who just happens to be a vampire. What?! I didn't know that. Alrightyyyy! The entire vamp series took off from there.
6. “A Vampire's Kiss” is being released in monthly installments, which I think is a novel idea and one I've never seen or heard of before. What made you decide to run with this idea?
Actually, in the old days many of the classic novels by authors we know so well (Charles Dickens, etc.) were published as serials. Stephen King has done it with several of his novels. In my case, I had just survived a nightmare in my career that would turn most novelists' hair gray. No, I'm not talking about a yucky cover (yeah, we all have nightmares about that *lol), but close.
In the 23 years I have been a fulltime writer I've always made sure 2-4 new books of mine came out every year from my various publishers. I was on track in 2009 for 4 new novels and novellas to come out. But in March my ebook publisher went out of business weeks before one of my spin-off series ("The Rune Witch Series") was to be published. I had just finished the first draft of "A Vampire's Kiss" in February. That meant I had to stop working on that novel and find a new publisher for "The Rune Witch Series." My naughty blog was also being made into a memoir series. I have had agents off and on during my career, but at that time didn't have one. I knew I wanted one for that memoir series so it would go to a good nonfiction publisher. I settled on an agent in June, and he found a good publisher for the memoir series and my spin-off novel series.
Everything seemed to be going well. Or so I thought. Then everything bogged down in September. By March of this year I had gone 16 months without a new book. Horrors! And not for lack of trying or writing new books. Just one case after another of publisher constipation.
Then Kittyfeather Press offered me the opportunity to publish "The Manigault Vampires" as a serial, and I jumped at it. You've gotta admit it's the perfect reward for all my loyal fans who went 16 months without a new book from me. Now, because of what Kittyfeather Press has done, they get hot vampire erotica from me every month in this serial format. How cool is that? At first people were kinda shocked, because it is unusual. But now everyone loves the idea, and my fans wait anxiously from month to month for the next installment. So it's become a huge hit, and I'm having a blast with it.
7. What made you choose vampires as your next avenue to explore?
That's easy. Vampires are sex-on-a-stick. Duh. *lol* I already have Witches, a shapeshifter, and several two-natured Fey characters. I wanted a vampire series because I thought it would work well with my Witches, which it has. Plus, I got to create this fabulous vampire world in Columbia. Dray is 145 years old. He was turned during the Civil War in Charleston, South Carolina. So I get to go into a bit of history when Sara learns his true identify. Big fun!
8. I've read that some authors find it impossible to write without putting a little bit of themselves in what they write. Do you agree with this? If so what characteristics of yourself do you see in your characters?
Some do, and some don't. For me, my characters have always been fictional. But there are certain subjects I know about, Pagan and not, that I want to explore in a novel. However that doesn't mean the heroine is me. For example, Mirabella is the typical artist. Starting out as an artist I know plenty about that life and biz. So she is a composite of about 20 artists I know.
On the other hand, "A Vampire's Kiss" is a first for me in many respects. It is the first novel of mine where the h/h refused to follow my outline. No kidding. Dray and Sara are such a great couple and the chemistry between them is so intense they wanted to tell their story their way. I get to fuck yummy Dray over and over and over again. Ah, life is good! *sex-obsessed grin* Those fans of mine who know me get a real kick out of Sara because she is soooo ME! lol
9. Finally, if you could pack up and leave for one week, where would you go and why?
Is this fantasy or reality? If it's fantasy I would grab Chippendale's stripper Kevin Cornell and disappear into the sunset as fast as my little bunny slippers could take me. Damn, that man is HAWT! Awesome news, isn’t it? And it’s about time, too! ;)
First, I want to thank all of you who’ve stayed with me faithfully through the last year of my insane career. Why? Because it’s been 16 verrrrrrry long months since my last erotic romance, Call of the Witches, was published.
Trust me. I never in a million years planned for that to happen. But Forbidden Publications (who bought my Rune Witch Series) was supposed to publish that ebook novella trilogy in the Spring/Summer of 2009. And Trytium Publishing was set to publish A Vampire’s Kiss in the fall of 2009.
Instead Forbidden went out of business in March, shocking many of its authors, including me. That meant I had to stop working on the vamp novel to find a new publisher for the The Rune Witch Series.
See? My plan was for four new erotica novels and novellas to come out in 2009 for my rabid fans. Instead zero were published. Argh!!
I got a new agent in May who spent the rest of the year buying out my publishing contracts with two of my publishers (Trytium and Artemesia) and consolidating those books with one publisher (Magicomm Media).
All of this has taken time. Too much time, as far as I’m concerned.
So I’m pulling a Stephen King this week. In 1996 King published The Green Mile as a serial novel in six parts. And we all know what a success that novel was. Duh. Since then he’s gone on to publish several of his novels as serials. Not to mention Playboy Magazine also runs serialized novels.
So why can’t I, right?
And that’s exactly what I’ve done. Today, I’m announcing Kittyfeather Press is publishing my smokin’ hot The Manigault Vampires series as serial novels. And the first issue goes on sale TODAY. Yay!
The first erotica novel in that series (A Vampire’s Kiss) is being published in a serial newsletter named after the series (The Manigault Vampires). The first week of every month a new issue will come out containing the next two chapters in A Vampire’s Kiss. These are digital issues (like ebooks), and you can order them through PayPal directly from the site I have created for the first novel in this erotica series, A Vampire’s Kiss.
How cool is that?!
Hey, do I take good care of my readers or what? You had to wait 16 looooong months for new fiction from me. But when I’m finally in a position to deliver I make sure you get HAWT vampire erotica every month.
Alrightyyyyy!
I told one of my readers about this idea last week, and she loved it, not only because she has a Kindle but also because she is insanely busy with her kids and family. She said these issues would be the perfect digestible bites for lunchtime reading or whenever she can find 15-20 minutes during her busy day for an erotica fix. And we all know how much we need that “fix.” ;)
For ordering information go to http://www.avampskiss.blogspot.com. There you can read the first chapter of A Vampire’s Kiss and see how to order the first issue of The Manigault Vampires, which contains the first three chapters of A Vampire’s Kiss. You can also read comments from some of the reviewers I’ve been sneaking chapters to for the last year (yeah, authors do that a lot *LOL).
Best of all, each issue sells for only $1.99. Cool, huh? ;)
Okay, if you have any questions, let me know. Otherwise, you’ll have to excuse me while I happy-dance the rest of the day….! *ecstatic grin*
For better or worse. *lmao* No seriously, Alex and my agent set me up at Facebook last fall with a profile page and a ROCKIN' Fan Page. Then at Twitter. Plus, he built a new verrrry naughty website for me, which also rocks because my wicked blog is there too. So I have been very busy since September and haven't spent much time at GR.
But now I'm cool with FB and Twitter and the new site is moving along nicely. This means I'm free to come back every week and torment all my friends at GR. Yay! Aren't you lucky? lol
Seriously, though, if you are on FB or Twitter friend me. I'll list the links below. In the meantime I'll be stirring up all kinds of naughty fun here at GR.
That's right. The awesome website Alex has been creating for me and we've been working so diligently on is just about finished.
http://www.LauraStamps.com
The good news is my blog has a new home and is moving to http://www.LauraStamps.com as of today. That means I will no longer be posting on my LiveJournal blog or in my blog groups at EONS, PaganSpace, or Goodreads. If you wanna read new blog posts you'll have to come to my totally decadent new website. Yeah, you're gonna love it!
So the blog part is finished. However, the name of my blog has changed. It's no longer called "Laura Stamps' Naughty Author Blog." Now it's simply "Naughty Notes." The current blog post will appear on the homepage of my website every day. And if you'd like to read past blog posts you'll find them under the "Naughty" button. You'll also find other past blog posts under "News" when the post was newsy. Or under "Tips" when I gave advice.
In fact, you can click on the swirl of tags at the bottom of the home page and find blog posts that relate to all those topics. Cool, huh?
The "Contact" page is finished as well. If you wanna send me a note or ask a question, use the Contact Form. And the "Newsletter" page is finished too if you'd like to subscribe to my lusty free e-newsletter. In fact I'm writing the October issue today. ;)
You'll notice at the top right of the homepage you can subscribe to my naughty blog with an RSS feed. All you have to do is click on the gorgeous ass of the woman with the lovely pink ring and follow those directions. *kinky grin*
The "Archives" contain all my blog posts. Just click on the arrows to go from month to month and year to year.
The "Books" part of the site should be finished by next Monday. Then you'll be able to read all about my sexy novels and how to order them. I'll let you know as soon as that happens.
But for now enjoy my trashy blog in its new home. Alex is amazing. She gave me a selection of sexy images to choose from, so each day a different image will illustrate that day's blog post. How cool is that?
Enjoy!
With Wes gone on a 4-day company golf trip to Pinehurst, NC, I worked through the weekend. Whew!
But I wasn't the only one. Alex, the brilliantly talented woman Rick assigned to create my new website, was hard at work too. Not only did we accomplish lots on the new website, but Alex also set up a Twitter account for me.
Totally cool!
And she created a Fan Page for my novels at Facebook. Awesome!
I'll tell you more about my new Facebook Fan Page in my next blog post. But in this one I wanted to let you know I'm now the "NaughtyPussycat" on Twitter. Purrrrrrfect, isn't it? *wicked grin*
http://twitter.com/naughtypussycat
So if you're on Twitter, follow me. I'll be tweeting every day. Alex tied my Twitter account to my Facebook Fan Page, so you'll not only be getting deliciously naughty tweets from me but also tweets about my novels.
How cool is that?!
Alex had thought the blog part of the new website would be ready yesterday, but she discovered there were some server issues she needed to work out first, as well as some additional tweaks that needed to be made. No biggie. I don't wanna go live with it for my fans/readers until it's easy to navigate. So when she's ready to rock n' roll, I'll let you know.
In the meantime, just let me say this new website is sooooooo gorgeously naughty. You're gonna love it!
Stay tuned....
But I wasn't the only one. Alex, the brilliantly talented woman Rick assigned to create my new website, was hard at work too. Not only did we accomplish lots on the new website, but Alex also set up a Twitter account for me.
Totally cool!
And she created a Fan Page for my novels at Facebook. Awesome!
I'll tell you more about my new Facebook Fan Page in my next blog post. But in this one I wanted to let you know I'm now the "NaughtyPussycat" on Twitter. Purrrrrrfect, isn't it? *wicked grin*
http://twitter.com/naughtypussycat
So if you're on Twitter, follow me. I'll be tweeting every day. Alex tied my Twitter account to my Facebook Fan Page, so you'll not only be getting deliciously naughty tweets from me but also tweets about my novels.
How cool is that?!
Alex had thought the blog part of the new website would be ready yesterday, but she discovered there were some server issues she needed to work out first, as well as some additional tweaks that needed to be made. No biggie. I don't wanna go live with it for my fans/readers until it's easy to navigate. So when she's ready to rock n' roll, I'll let you know.
In the meantime, just let me say this new website is sooooooo gorgeously naughty. You're gonna love it!
Stay tuned....
xoxo
What a crazy-busy week this has been. It all started with an email Monday morning from Angie, one of my best friends in high school, who had just joined Facebook. She encouraged me to join, too, and sent me to her profile page, where I saw people from high school and college I hadn't seen for three decades.
Wow!
Not only that, but there are two groups on Facebook devoted to my high school and the reunion they're putting together in a few months.
Wow!
Okay, joining Facebook has been on my To-do list all year. I constantly get invites from friends, readers, and fans, but I've been so busy on EONS, Goodreads, PaganSpace, LiveJournal, and Linkedin that I haven't had the time to join. Not to mention the total overhaul my career is undergoing this summer with my agent. And the fact I'm working like crazy, trying to finish the first novel in this new erotica vampire series. Whew!
But after talking with Angie and seeing how many people I know are on Facebook, I realized I needed to take the plunge. NOW.
So that's what I did yesterday. In fact I spent all afternoon and evening setting up my profile at Facebook, posting my pics, connecting with some of the people I know there, and chatting like crazy. Major fun!
But don't worry. I'm trying reallllllly hard to be a good girl there. Kinda. I've already been warned by my agent about the Facebook Police. Then last night I noticed the largest erotica group on Facebook had been slammed by the FP, so it looks like they do exist. Yikes! I'll try to behave like I do at Linkedin (not), even though it's soooooo HARD for this shameless slut. And we all know how much I like it "hard." Purrrrrrrrrrrrrr. *horny grin*
But I digress...
Anyway, here's the link to my profile on Facebook:
If you're on Facebook, send me a friend invite. I'd love to connect with you!
Okay, I'm off to create naughty havoc (as usual) wherever I go today. And I'm definitely dressed for the job. I'm wearing some of my new trashy lingerie (of course). Tiny black fishnet bikini panties with rhinestones and a hot pink sequin heart on my left ass cheek. My agent is gonna love this panty pic when I text it to him later this morning. *naughty grin*
What can I say? This slut is having waaaaay too much fun!!
I've been receiving lots of emails and PMs this summer from people who would like to come to my booksignings this year, but can't because they live too far away. So they're asking how they can order signed copies of my novels directly from me. They've heard I include terribly naughty personalizations upon request, which I do. Hey, what can I say? Once a slut always a slut. *lusty grin*
Anyway, I've written over 40 books in the last 21 years, but publishers have a habit of going in and out of business, so "The Witchery Series" trilogy is the only series in print at the moment. It has something in it for everyone. Here's what it looks like:
1.) The Witches of Dixie: Book One of the Witchery Series...$12.95 (very empowering, no romance or sex)
2.) What Witches Want: Book Two of the Witchery Series....$13.95 (sweet romance, tasteful sex)
3) Call of the Witches: Book Three of the Witchery Series....$13.99 (very erotic romance, HOT sex!)
All the characters flow from one novel to the next, although you can read them separately and out of order if you like, because they all have a complete ending. All contain real spells, chants, rituals, vegetarian recipes, empowering info, etc. My readers tell me there is so much good stuff in these books they read them with a yellow highlighter and sticky notes so they can go back and use the info in their own lives. Really.
If you live in the U.S., you can order them directly from me. Like I said, I sign those copies and include wickedly naughty personalizations upon request. I don't charge shipping, so send me a check for the books you want to order made payable to Laura Stamps.
Mail to:
Laura Stamps
P.O. Box 212534
Columbia, SC 29221-2534
Let me know the day you mail the check, and I'll mail the books out to you that day so you'll get them faster. And, yes, I will sign and write terribly naughty personalizations in each one just for you. All you have to do is ask. ;)
If you're on my newsletter list you'll be receiving a mailing about this later today.
In the meantime, have an awesome weekend! I've got a HOT sex date with Wes on Sunday. I'll tell you all the lusty details next week in my naughty blog group here at GR.
You know I will... *naughty grin*
