I'm happy that you are getting into Stephen King's huge canon of incredible books. I started reading him when I was twelve. I was at the library with my mom, perusing the new titles, and my eyes lit on the enticing cover of Eyes of the Dragon, and I knew I just had to read it.
And read it I did. At least three times.
I have read all of his books with the exception of Gerald's Game. I plan to read it this year though.
As for the remainder of my top five, wow... that's a tough assignment if I ever had one! I have loved most of his books, and have actually been rereading them this year, which is the reason you saw a new review of Pet Sematary from me recently.

So, here is my current top 5:

The Shining
The Stand
It
Salem's Lot
Pet Sematary

Although anything by King is bound to make you happy, those five are, in my opinion, his best. Thanks, and I hope that helps. Have a good one!

I logged in one day and this was already installed. I swear I had nothing to do with it! You're right, though; for authors, aspiring authors and book lovers as a whole, this feature should be fun and informative.
The reason I enjoy writing so much, and I'm sure this is probably passe by this point, but it is simple. When I sit down in front of that laptop, desktop computer or even if I'm just scratching out notes on a legal pad with a number 2 pencil, that's when I get to be free from the shackles of reality. I get to dive into the world inhabited by my characters, my ideas and an endless well of possibilities. Same reason I love reading books!
I have only one goal as a writer, and that is to rule the world!(less)

Tommy Rotten (Horror)
1 chapters   —   updated May 13, 2015 06:36PM
Description: A short story for the Halloween season. Tommy Rotten is something of a local legend. Carol decides to take her brother and his friends trick or treating down the street where he is said to lurk in the pumpkin patch.
THE CONTINUANCE AGENCY (Horror)
1 chapters   —   updated May 13, 2015 06:35PM
Description: Daniel Sharpe survived the end of the world. Now he lives alone, fearful that he may be the last living person on earth. It is too dangerous for him to venture outside - to try and find other survivors - with that ominous black cloud of death still looming in the sky above. When a manila envelope mysteriously arrives with an invitation to join "The Continuance Agency", an organization on a mission to save mankind, Daniel has to decide if it's worth the risk to try to join up, to see if he can help to save whatever's left of the world. But deep inside he wonders: is "The Continuance Agency" really what it claims to be?
Way Out Of Here (Horror)
1 chapters   —   updated May 13, 2015 06:35PM
Description: Meet Gordon Delanolan. Just call him Nolan, everyone else does. Nolan is bored with life and in dire need of adventure. The only problem is that he has done everything, and there doesn't seem to be anything else left to add spice to his existence. Then one night Nolan is shocked and terrified to hear a disembodied voice coming from his navel. Reality, he finds, is much more tenuous than he at first believed. At first he thinks he may be going insane, but perhaps he has found the way out of his jaded existence afterall. This short story was originally published as BELLY BUTTON WINDOW, but I have elected to release it under its original title with a modified cover. It will still be available in the previous format as part of the Light Brothers' short story collection THE CORPUS CORRUPTUM.
VENGEANCE BY THE FOOT (Horror)
1 chapters   —   updated May 13, 2015 06:34PM
Description: http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/B007UIA7BC/ref=sib_dp_kd#reader-link Like a modern-day Franz Kafka or young William S. Burroughs, blossoming new author Adam Light presents the twisted tale of an unlucky man suffering the misfortune of losing his foot to diabetes. Amputation is a bad thing even on a good day, but it's even worse when your severed foot holds a grudge.

That's great. In my area, there are precious few book stores. We have more luck at thrift shops.

Angie I love lots of the books you've managed to pick up, our local charity shops aren't that good but the book clearance shops are really good. I used to read books with my kids when they were young and they were always surrounded by books. It's turned them into avid readers as adults.
