I had came across Lydia Davis from an NPR interview and loved what she was doing with flash fiction. I have been reading Stuart Dybek for a while but rediscovered him when I began a serious study of Flash Fiction and Nonfiction. I then turned to Prose Poetry something I had not paid much attention to until I realized the commonalities of all these forms. I ran into David Shumate who exploded my head, Nin Alexander, and many more prose poets and the direction was set. Prosthetic Amalgams is an 'amalgam' of all these forms - Flash Fiction, Flash Nonfiction and prose poetry.

As I near the end of my third year as a full-time writer I invite you to enter my world. I’ve been a reader forever, particularly science fiction as I grew up and through my adolescence and early adult life. The wider world of literature opened to me somewhat late in my education as I was completing my engineering degree and had to fill in some English courses. The writing began with my job cre... I love this story, just re-read it for the third or fourth or fifth time. It is so, so real, that is what makes it for me. I've been there, I can feel the emotions the thoughts and the actions of all the characters.

"A wonderful read. Good characters, real stories and a look at the human condition that is honest, believable and both hopeful and disappointing.

Kenny Chaffin and 1 other person liked Anh's review of Cannery Row:
Cannery Row by John Steinbeck
"I... I don't know what to say about this book. I can't put my finger on the exact reason why, but I found it mighty humane - a consistent feature of Steinbeck's that I found in Of mice and men. On the contrary of the intense focus on the two men,..." Read more of this review »

There is a distance where magnets pull, we feel, having held them back. Likewise there is a distance where words attract. Set one out like a bait goat and wait and seven others will approach.
