Eleanore MacDonald is a California native … a musician, an animal advocate, a writer, who lives in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains on a small farm graced with a host of furred and hoofed creatures. Growing up a motherless child in Carmel, CA., she found a great solace in the sea, in words and in the animals, drawing it all into her blood until they became a part of her––she has since then always sought a way to express that love through finding the extraordinary in an ordinary world. Eleanore is also part of an award winning songwriting team with her husband Paul Kamm and has been a performing artist for 32 years. A true friend of Greece - her people, culture and islands - she has been traveling there and working with, and for, ...more

devotion (Paul Kamm)

I didn’t have to search for it. My word for the year just came to me, and with it, a host of lovely synonyms in its wake. Devotion. Well, devotion––minus the religious connotations––holding hands with dedication, fealty, loyalty, commitment, fortitude and constancy.

In the past I have labored over what it might be for me, that word that embodies all I want to do with my inte...

Jeffrey Siger Hi Eleanore,

Thanks for taking the time to read and mention three of my Greece based, Chief Inspector Andreas Kaldis novels. I sincerely appreciate it -- as, I'm sure, do Andreas and Greece :))

Jeff

Christie Hi Eleanore,
Thank you for marking Dreaming Mill Valley to read. Like you, my love affair with place runs deep. Here in Marin County Mt. Tamalpais is sacred ground, a cathedral in the sky, home to creatures and critters that remind me of the order of all life. If you read the prologue, you'll find an ode to the mountain. How fortunate for you to have found your Greek Island. The photos are stunning. I can't wait to share your blog with fellow travelers.
Best wishes, Christie
P.S. I swim in the San Francisco bay at China Camp, float on my back, and marvel that the city is so close.
