About this author

A history fan, travel lover, and outdoor enthusiast, Jennifer Delamere writes sweet romance with plenty of joy and sizzle. Her debut novel An Heiress at Heart was an RWA RITA® award finalist, and her follow-up, A Lady Most Lovely, earned a starred review from Publishers Weekly. Jennifer earned her B.A. in English from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where she also gained fluency in French and developed an abiding passion for winter sports. An avid reader of both classic novels and historical fiction, she also enjoys biographies and histories, which she mines for the vivid details to bring to life the characters and places in her books.

The first is to sit down at the computer anyway! (Or in a chair with a pen and paper.) Even if I don't know what I'm going to write, if I will have the discipline to make an effort, nine times out of ten I'll get over the "block" and figure out where to go next. But what if I've done that and I still can't make progress? My second method involves doing just the opposite! It's to take a walk. The combination of movement and allowing myself to think is golden. For "An Heiress at Heart," my editor had asked me to replace three flashback scenes with one prologue that would accomplish the same task. It was a tall order, and I had no idea where to start. As it was a gorgeous Saturday afternoon, I drove to a nearby lake. By the time I had completed walking the two-mile path around the lake, I had my prologue virtually cemented in my head.(less)

Wonderful, easy to read, and loaded with interesting details about life in Elizabethan England. I especially love the quotes from Shakespeare's plays that illustrate the point or detail discussed.
