About this author

Courtney Privett was born in Detroit in 1982 and raised in northeastern Michigan. She relocated to Missouri to obtain a degree in Ceramic Engineering, and now resides in California with her husband, three children, and two disobedient cats.

Courtney wrote her first book, The Crystal Lattice, while still in college as a diversion from differential equations and has been obsessed ever since. She wrote the first draft of the Echoes of Oblivion trilogy in six months while working a temporary job in insurance. Echoes of Oblivion was quickly followed by Mayfly Requiem, which was written by hand over many late nights. She published her fifth book, Shadows of Absolution, in July 2012.

One day I'll get around to making Arden's tomato pie again so I can take pictures and write it down. It's quite wonderful, kind of a light deep dish pizza.
This is the wild rice dish that Zella Thula makes for the Metavanya famil... Read more of this blog post »

Cosmos by Carl Sagan
“Exploration is in our nature. We began as wanderers, and we are wanderers still. We have lingered long enough on the shores of the cosmic ocean. We are ready at last to set sail for the stars.”
Carl Sagan
