ACCENDO
Third book in
“The Light-Bearer Series”
by Emily Guido
This review is hard, as this is the third book in this series and I have many emotional ups and downs, especially in this book.
I’ve come to know and love the characters because the author has done a outstanding job with describing them and their personalities.
I’ve wondered what was going on even when I wasn’t reading.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
818039-bigthumbnail1If you were reading my reviews or read the series, you know the egotistic stupidness of the men.
They went to battle with the Elder Counsel and got defeated just as Charmeine predicated they would.
They had to retreat with one family member dead and Charmeine barley holding onto life.
1303925-bigthumbnail1Tabbruis was beside his self for not believing in his wife and queen.
Will Charmeine stay in Heaven or return to earth to stand beside her husband and family to defeat the Elder counsel?
The Elder Counsel still didn’t have what they wanted, Charmeine.
Dimitri, Tabbruis and the rest of the family knew they’d come after them.
It took a couple of months for Charmeine to come out of it. In that time Tabbruis learned a lot about their relationship and how it came about.
Will the gentlemen listen to Charmeine for the next battle?
blonde-boy-couple-girl-hot-love-Favim_com-105700Can Charmeine ever forgive Tabbruis as a husband and protector?
Will they defeat the counsel and have their entire family returned to them?
Will they have faith in their queen of Light Bearers and Blood Hunters?
It’s all in this book and so much more. The books flow from one to the other effortlessly.
A surprise ending had me crying out for another book in this series.
2 Mactus Book Cover1My time has come to a end with Charmeine, Tabbruis, Shane, Thomas, Dimitri, Neal and Sandra.
I’m Sad!!
Read this series, you’ll know what I mean. “Mactus” my LightBearers & BloodHunters!
The Light-Bearer Series: Book Review by Mari Wells
Emily Guido has a series of Blood Hunters, because they drink blood, I’m going to review the three books I’ve read.
The Light-Bearer Series has a delightful array of angels and blood hunters.I really enjoyed the first three books in the series. I devoured (ha ha pun intended) them in 4 days.
The three novels I read tell us about some very damaged men, life sucks ( ha ha this pun was intended too) and these men know it. Most have lost their soul mates.
20130218-225718-1In Charmeine (book 1), we meet Tabbruis a wealthy man with an appetite for blood. We follow the story as he meets Charleen a teacher who feels like something is missing from her life.
Both meet at a Billy Joel concert. Neither wants to admit that the other causes them to feel feelings that they haven’t felt before. At the end of Charmeine they’re together.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Charmeine and Tabbruis 1In Mactus (book 2), gives us Charmeine and Tabbruis together, loving each other and learning about each other’s past.
OMG! They were married thousands of years ago in heaven! I’m not saying anymore about that, if you want to know you’ll have to read it.
We’re also introduced to the other men in the castle.

How I said, these guys know just how much life can suck.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
gothicwallpaper1-11In Accendo (book 2), war is about to break out between the blood-hunters and a very old blood-hunter council. Charmeine and Tabbruis are married, this pisses off the council even more.
Why?
Because Charmeine is a Light-Bearer, basically she’s an angel. There’s a lot of fighting between newly weds.
There are some massive surprises in this novel.
I can’t wait to read the rest of this series, I really enjoyed it.
About Author Christina OW
Christina OW writes suspense, thrillers, erotica, interracial and multicultural romance books. She is the author of Contemporary, Fantasy, Paranormal, Regency Romance books and a poet of currently 3 titles. She loves reading novels that take her on a ride of wild emotions. Books have always been an escape for her, for a few hours she gets to live the lives of characters she grows to cherish and admire. She’s always had an active imagination and because of it has lived in her head more than she has been in the outside world. She always imagined scenarios and wondered how they would turn out in the end, and what kind of emotions they would invoke. Thus began her writing career.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
My love for reading novels started a very long time, about when I was 10 or 11. I was in awe of how a person’s imagination could just take form and fill up pages. I loved the fact that I would read the words and watch it play out in my mind. Some of the books became way more interesting than watching TV!  I’m a person who lives in her head more than the outside world because off all the stories in my head. So I figured maybe I should put down all the stories I had in my head on paper, and share them, see if everyone else loved them as much as I did.
What about historical/regency romance?
I wasn’t much of a fan because the books I’d read so far the characters just seemed stuffy and annoying. But then I found several books published by Second Wind Publishing and I was hooked!  Their books were more than just trying to be historically accurate, they had everything and they seemed to come alive through the words and I couldn’t stop reading them. I’m a huge Regency fan now.
Do you have a favorite and a least favorite scene in the book?
Yes, I do have a favorite scene and a scene that I didn’t like writing but was necessary in the book. A person’s character is built buy the positive and negative things in their lives and the same goes for books.
Is TOL apart of the series? How many books are in the series?
Yes, Trial of Love is apart of the series and the first book. So far, there are 3 books in the series, TOL, A Lady Unbecoming and Lady Nancy.

I’m still playing with the idea of adding more books about some of the supporting characters in TOL. I’ll see how these 3 books go first then take it from there.
Any more new releases for 2014 from you?
Yes. His Paris Affair (Albury Affairs #3) will be out in late June and I’m expecting Book #2 of the Slave Bound series A Lady Unbecoming to be released later on this year.

Excerpt from
Trial of Love
Hallo again,” Carl whispered, pressing her tight against him.
Melanie felt her body go cold at his touch. Quickly she placed her hands on his chest and pushed him away. Nicholas grabbed her hand and pulled her behind him. “What have you done to the lady, Mr. Meed?” He asked harshly.
Carl gave a slight bow, “Nothing Lord Townson.”
“It didn’t look like nothing,” Nancy pushed standing up and moving to Melanie. “Dove, you look pale. What’s the matter?”
Melanie pulled a tight smile over her lips and shook her head, “Forgive me. He took me by surprise and I reacted.”
“See, it was all a misunderstanding.” Carl spoke with a casual laugh.
Nancy nodded, moving back to her seat.
Carl moved towards them and Melanie fought the urge to hide further behind Nicholas. He held out his hand, eyeing her. “May I have this dance?”
She wanted to yell ‘go to hell’ and run out, but, she wasn’t that uneducated girl anymore. She was supposed to either politely decline and make up an excuse or accept.
“You can have the next one Carl,” Nicholas spoke firmly, taking Melanie’s hand and starting the dance. “What did he really do to you Melanie?”
He bought me!

11-5-2013-9-31-32-amSo I read “Charmeine” the first book in this series, I fell in love with the story and the characters.

20130218-225718-1Tabbruis, a 8,000 year old BloodHunter, turned good and fights for his kind who are like him, they only feed on animals, not humans. He’s dark, handsome, a vampire and loyal.

DmitriDimitri, one of Tabbruis’s BloodHunter brothers, loyal, knowledgeable because he’s the oldest of them, also very handsome.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Simply+RedShane, Charmeine’s friend since they were young.
Dover-CastleThey are in Romania now, they had to leave NYC because a BloodHunter was after Charmeine. Tabbruis has his home there and feels they will be safe there with Dimitri. We meet new characters in this book that I also fell for.
A couple big secrets revealed throughout this book.
A family finally back together have to fight with their lives to stay that way.
Will they be strong enough to bring down the Elders?
Does bringing Charmeine to Romania bring her closer to death?
When I wasn’t reading, I was wondering what the characters were up to! The author does such a great job with personalities of the characters I get emotionally involved and can’t wait to get back to them.
Slide1-1Now I get to read the last book, I’m looking forward to it, also dreading it being the end of my time with all them.
One of my favorite quotes ’Semper tuus ero’, read the story to find out the definition! Hehe  :).
You can tell this author is romantic at heart, you can see it in her writing.
Tabbruis
Tabbruis
Tabbruis is a 8,000 year old Blood Hunter, at first he fed on humans, then something in him changed and he stopped feeding on humans, started feeding on animals.
victor
Dimitri Blood-Hunter Brother of Tabbruis
He thought he was the only one of his kind, then he met Dimitri, he was the same as Tabbruis, didn’t feed on humans. Their kind are suppose to feed on humans, most of their kind do.
The Elder counsel would have them die in front of their kind if they found out they don’t feed on humans. Dimitri explained to Tabbruis that there are other entities out there called Light Bearers. They are enemies, they kill each other, they hunt each other down.
Tabbruis stayed with Dimitri for awhile and learned things from him, they became as close as brothers. Dimitri told Tab he lost his family because of the Elder counsel, he can’t wait to get even with them. Tabbruis has never been in love, but he vows to help when the time comes.
rain-uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuSomething is pulling him to NYC, so he leaves and goes there, he can’t help himself, he’s being drawn there.
He meets Charmeine there, is she the reason he was drawn there?
Tabbruis and Charmeine ~Can they be together?~
Tabbruis and Charmeine
~Can they be together?~
He goes to a concert and feels there’s a Blood Hunter stalking a human, Charmeine is the one the blood Hunter is stalking.
I really can’t say anymore, you’ll have to read it for yourself.
I’m reading the second book in this series now.
Stay tuned!
I love this story!
Here is a video that I thought would fit with that great review!
March 30, 2014
This is a blog tour about how authors discover their writing process.
My wonderfully talented blogging friend David Lee Summers posted his post last week and you can see his incredible blog here: http://dlsummers.wordpress.com/2014/03/17/my-writing-process-blog-tour/
Now onto My Writing Process:
4 Seditious Book Cover 1What am I working on?
I am in the final edits of Seditious, the 4th novel in The Light-Bearer Series. I have Ransom the 5th novel finished and doing preliminary edits. However, I am in the process of finishing Conundrum the 6th novel.
In Seditious, Tabbruis is tested with his dark past coming to haunt him called . . .  Bathsheba!  She is serious trouble. However, the most heinous threat comes from the Evil Lord Cromwell, a very powerful Blood-Hunter.
The team at the Castle Charmeine has its hands full in Ransom and it does not disappoint. As a matter of fact, I believe the series just keeps getting better and better. More Blood-Hunters, Light-Bearers, Angels, Demons, Witches and Warlocks to come.
How does my work differ from others of its genre?
Book loversMy writing is different because I never mentioned in any of The Light-Bearer Series that the Blood-Hunters are Vampires. I wanted my own definition of a vampire. So, I didn’t follow the lore that Bram Stoker, my very favorite Author, wrote Dracula.  My work is spiritual but The Light-Bearer Series is certainly is not a religious series per se. How can you mention Angels and Heaven, and not mention God? That would be very difficult.
Also, I concentrate on making my work a “believable-fantasy.” I mean, The Light-Bearer Series is set with the contemporary themes of our time. Yes, my characters do not exist, but I wanted to make the reader believe that they could be, just a little. I have a friend who is always telling me that my writing is “living ability,” and I always wondered what that meant. However, one day I was at a book signing and a fan told me that she read the books and thought I had been in Iraq or had a relative in the Army in Iraq.  I didn’t, but I did a lot of research.
ALL the history in the novels are true, and I have gone into great research to correctly portray the long 8000 year history of Tabbruis and his fellow Blood-Hunters and Light-Bearers.
Why do I write what I do?
11-5-2013-9-31-32-amI LOVE PARANORMAL and I LOVE ROMANCE!  It’s that simple . . .  Why would anyone write what they aren’t interested in?
I am an avid reader in my genre. I also am an avid reader of Independent Authors too. I love the unknown that you get with a Paranormal Genre. I am getting my MBA in August, 2014 and I use my writing as an outlet for all the wonderful scenes going on in my head.
Tabbruis is such a dark, luscious character to me. His head is always centered on one thing and one thing only . . . Charmeine!  She is his light in his dark world. Tabbruis is a hunk-a-hunk-a burning love, but he doesn’t have any purpose without Charmeine and her love. Saving the world is just a side-effect of being with Charmeine. He would be happy if the world went away and it was just them, all alone. He loves her with a determination and strength that is deep in his sole. Charmeine is his life and to him, nothing matters but the woman in his arms . . . Charmeine.
Yes, Charmeine loves Tabbruis right back; however, her love is a “special kind of love” she wants to accept everyone. She wants everyone to be supported and loved. She is a wonderful role model for us all. Her tolerance and acceptance of everyone, no matter what or who they are is something lacking in this world. Unless that person is a scumbag, like the dastardly, venomous Pascal or Bathsheba.
Why do I write? It’s clear, I write of things that make me excited, scared, romantic, and most of all happy!
How does your writing process work?
thursday14I spend no preparation time because I see the scenes in my head and write as I view them. I know, I know . . . a lot of writers would think I was crazy, but believe me, I can’t write off an outline. I have to let the story flow and evolve it the way.
I know in my heart that true fans of Paranormal reading will never fade away. They are the people who like to escape in their minds to a world that is colored and framed by the author. The people who want to read are reading and the others can do as they wish.
If one person likes “The Light-Bearer Series,” and that person to tells another how they enjoyed “The Light-Bearer Series,” one person to recommend “The Light-Bearer Series,” and the news will grow exponentially.
I try keep my head and use my author friends for support and guidance. They are my lifeline.
I love my fellow BLOGGERS and AUTHORS!
Thanks for stopping by. If you have a question about my process, feel free to ask down in the comments!
