Khenpo Gangshar Wangpo was a Tibetan Buddhist scholar ("Khenpo" is a title similar to "Doctor of Divinity"), tertön and mahasiddha. Recognized as an emanation of a great Indian master by Shechen Kogntrul, himself an incarnation of Jamgön Kongtrül Lodrö Thayé, he was appointed as a khenpo of Shechen Monastery before the Chinese invasion of Tibet, which he is held to have prophesied. He was among the teachers of Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche and Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche.
