It's called The Finder Team, and the team is made up of an eclectic group of forty-somethings, all of whom bring a power set of skills to the table, include some psychic abilities. They use these skills to help the local police solve crimes, mainly finding missing people.

In the first book, which I'm finishing up now, the team has to deal with an outbreak of missing elderly people -- all of them former professors -- along with an outbreak of crystal meth in their sleeping little mountain town.(less)

My current work features a "plus-size" character (modeled quite a bit on Jorge Garcia, who played Hurley on "Lost"), a type of person I've wanted to use as a protagonist, not as a secondary "stock" character.

I got the idea for a big character from a billboard, actually, as we were driving to North Myrtle Beach. It was for a T-shirt place, and the sign claimed it had shirts from "Sizes XS to 6X." As an XL guy myself, sometimes a 2X if it's a "petite" cut, I started wondering how big you'd have to be to be a 6X. Or 7X...

So Bim, my amateur detective with other special skills was born, and he's one of the two main characters of my mystery novel series The Finder Team. And it's not all about Bim eating a lot!(less)

Finders, Inc., by Michael Jasper

At last, I can share it with the rest of the world — my newest book, Finders, Inc, a mystery with hints of the paranormal set in the remote mountains of North Carolina.

The book is available as both an ebook and a trade paperback.

Here’s a synopsis:

fascinating life story

I'm amazed at the details in this memoir of one person's long struggle with the educational system for 13 long years. Honest, unflinching, and sometimes heartbreaking. A great memoir.
