I'm the bestselling author of Cross Currents, Beneath a Marble Sky, Beside a Burning Sea, Dragon House, and The Wishing Trees.
My newest novel, Cross Currents, takes place on a beautiful island in Thailand and has to do with the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. It's a page-turner, full of action and plot twists, but is also a story about love, hope, and the strength of the human spirit.
Beneath a Marble Sky is a work of historical fiction that's based on the remarkable story behind the creation of the Taj Mahal. Beneath a Marble Sky is my first novel, and it's been a great deal of fun. It's hitting bestseller lists, won a national award, is being made into a movie by Hollywood, and we've sold the rights to something like 20 different languages.
Beside a Burning Sea is set in the South Pacific during WWII and focuses on an American nurse and her Japanese patient. They have an unlikely love affair as the war unfolds around them.
Dragon House is set in modern-day Saigon, and tells the remarkable story of Iris and Noah—two Americans who, as a way of healing their own painful pasts, open a center to house and educate Vietnamese street children.
The Wishing Trees is the story of a widower and his ten-year-old daughter as they travel the world together. A novel of triumph and transformation.
