Strangely, I’m feeling nervous about releasing my second book, KILLING GODS (which is out tomorrow, woo! yikes!)
I think it’s because this time round, I have something to prove. With POWERLESS I had no idea what I was doing or how to go about it. Yes, I’d read as many articles on self-publishing as I could. I just had a look over my Smashwords channel manager and realised how many places my books were available. Whilst the Diesel and Sony ebook stores have vanished into the digital ether, they have been adding lots of new channels over the last year and I had forgotten most of them until now.
Unfortunately some of these new ones are subscription services. Not a bad thing at all, but it does mean that unless I subscribe to them myself, I can’t promote a direct link to my book on their service, as...

You may or may not be aware that there is currently a business dispute going on between Amazon and the French-backed publishing giant Hachette regarding ebook pricing. I’m not going to go over the details here as it is covered comprehensively in many other places.
What I am going to do is tell you that I have signed the Change.org petition in support of readers. Any decision that both forces artificially inflated ebook prices on readers and gives publisher-signed writers a smaller share from t...

Only a week to go until the release of Killing Gods (Tuesday 22nd July) and pre-orders are available on the iTunes store and Smashwords!
You can also mark it as To-Read on Goodreadsif you like.
Amazon don’t allow self-published authors to set up pre-orders, sothe book will simply pop up as available on the day.
Nook (Barnes & Noble) don’tappear to have a pre-order system,so I guess it’s release day there too. Same for Google Play.
Come release day itself, I...

The Church of the New Gods
The Church is run by the charismatic Dr Clifford Gaines, a native Australian who moved to the UK as a child to avoid their powered care policy, whereby all powered children were taken into state protection.
