Kenya Wright's Blog

July 8, 2014

Just wanted to say thanks to all of my readers for being patient for me as I slowly day by day get out of my writing slump and now begin my divorce. I haven't had the motivation to finish or revise the pending novels on my desk.

My friend told me to write poetry to get my creative juices flowing. It's been helping greatly. I've been working hard to get it together and am hoping to begin novel writing again in the weeks to come. Meanwhile check out one of my favorite poems that...

June 2, 2014

I'm Miami all day, baby! But when I party, it's not at South Beach. It's WYNWOOD Art District.

Sounds familiar?
The area has been discussed in my books. Some novels that come to mind are. . .The Muse (gallery opening), Sexual Deception (whole book is set there), etc

Wood Bar, one of my favorite spots

Regardless, more books will be set in Wynwood and explore the crazy scene.

Building owners don't mind the art as long as their info is on there too.
The best way to know you're in Wynwood is to se...

I almost did it. . . put some bullshit out, say it's a worthy novel, and all for the sake of meeting a release day.
Theirs to Craveis not what it should be and I need to regroup and revise.
There's a huge problem I have as an author, which is being on time with my release schedule.
I'm not dependable as I should be.
Due to that, I rushed a story when I should have focused on craft.
I'm a work in progress, myself.
In my head, I can write 6 books this summer, take...

Warning:  Steamy GIFS and IMAGES.

Love in Haiku explores erotic asphyxiation (also known as breath control play).

I know what some of you may be thinking. . .Kenya is definitely journeying down the dark erotic path this year.

I've always wanted to explore this topic. The first time I was introduced to it, was the film Rising Sun with Wesley Snipes and Sean Connery.

Like Love in Haiku, the film was set in Tokyo and discusses breath control play.

So before we go further...

MIT’s Media Lab students are working on a project called “Sensory Fiction” a “wearable book” that lets you experience emotions along with the story’s characters.

The book portrays the scenery and sets the mood, and the wearable novel allows the reader to experience the protagonist's physiological emotions.

By combining networked sensors and actuators, the wearable can change lighting, sound, temperature, chest tightness and even heart rate of the reader to match what the main character in the b...

WARNING:

Yeah. I'm really that ridiculous. It is a picture of a penis below. If you don't want to see it, it would be a good idea to leave now! lol.

If you never read any of the books from the Coventon Campus series, then. . .you may not get why there is an odd tattoo'd penis below.

Pipe is one of the fascinating characters in the series. I've been outlining his own book. It will be my first M/M romance.

I'm nervous.
Anyway,

When we were sixteen, Pipe had begged his nanny to pretend like she was hi...

Too obvious?

I don't think you all quite understand what I'm trying to say here.

This isn't a fairytale or your typical romance. It's something twisted and hard to swallow at times.
Am I making sense here?
Fuck it. Here's a scene from the book...........................................................
"There's only one way I fuck." (the dark hero says)The words are so crude that my lips part and I huff in an unsteady breath.
He takes a step f...
