I’m not sure I would call this “poetry,” more like prose with line break. But—as a novel—it is riveting. Exposes the gut-wrenching difficulty of loving two people in conflict, and not knowing whom to believe.

Sophisticated yet playful poetry for a young audience. I was amazed at the wordplay and use of poetic elements. Each poem was a little gem, perfect for young readers. The illustrations were beautiful.

I can’t believe I’ve never read this before. A classic of the genre, it took less than an hour to read. I was blown away by the size of this novel—not only the short, spare prose, but also the tiny—yet engrossing—scope of the conflict.

“She swore vengeance on all men with dark hearts.”
Lisa Papademetriou, Siren's Storm

“People make mistakes; they do the wrong things. Sometimes they're annoying. Sometimes they're awful. (That's true for me, too, by the way.)
So how do you know when it's time to give up? And do you know when to hang in there? I guess you don't really. You just make your choices and hope for the best.”
Lisa Papademetriou, Taking the Cake!

“It's always best to avoid strangling the person you're on a date with. No matter how crazy he makes you.”

Lisa Papademetriou Thanks, Sam! What a kind comment! That book is actually a parody of a lot of other fantasy novels, including the Lord of the Rings, the Chronicles of Narnia, and more. Enjoy exploring the genre!
