But then, it felt like I mentally hit a wall, just like runners do during their exercises. I wish I could say that I have completely conquered it, but it's still a struggle on some days. I'm learning that it's okay to let go of my plan sometimes for the purpose of getting my mind moving. Now, I'm using some writing prompts, especially goofy ones, like my morning stretches. They get me motivated and creative and then I'm off and writing.

Maybe it's because I'm so good at sticking my foot in my mouth in regular day-to-day conversations, but as a writer I'm learning the wonderful beauty of editing. If at first you write poorly, backspace and try again. Isn't that just wonderful?

I even love bringing in skilled editors who catch the things my eyes cannot see. They make me so much better than I am on my own. Even as I've been typing my response to this question, I've backspaced and redone so that I can hopefully communicate better.

Writers get to rewrite. That's fantastic!(less)

When my oldest daughter was young, we placed her in a gymnastics class. It was very exciting because the people who owned the gym used to be Olympic coaches for gold medal winners Nadia Comenici and Mary Lou Retton. And yet, they were happy teaching various ages and skill levels. About a month into […]

Great book for doctors and pilots, I'm still decided about it's value for me as a life coach. The simplicity of a list can easily be overlooked but this author shares many ways where a simple list has saved lives.

I love how Henry Cloud addresses the topic of integrity from a different angle. In order to have integrity, you must be a well integrated person. There are things we can do to become better integrated and Henry highlights those things in this book.
