Life Is a Gift by Tony Bennett
Bennett should have an honorary title of Dr. because what he's written is a prescription for a fulfilling and creative life. Read a little dose every day, and you'll be okay. Inspiring.
Sister by Rosamund Lupton
Sister
by Rosamund Lupton (Goodreads Author)
read in December, 2012
Here's a story that took me on a journey I didn't even realize I was on. I admire Lupton's intricate story arc, and commend her for pulling off a very risky twist at the end. The writing was solid, but it was how the author brilliantly tied the begin...more
Durable Goods by Elizabeth Berg
Berg has a way of drawing us into her characters' worlds. Her story endings always take the reader on a journey that moves beyond the last page. This one was no exception.
The Accidental Tourist by Anne Tyler
The Accidental Tourist
by Anne Tyler
read in May, 2012
A beautiful, unforgettable story. Tyler's writing is as seamless as the story itself. The characters, their world, their situations, were as real as it gets. Couldn't have enjoyed this more.
The White Album by Joan Didion
The White Album
by Joan Didion
read in February, 2012
I enjoyed the way Didion captured parts of the 60s that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. The ending of the Georgia O'Keeffe passage about the evening star was especially moving.

“Wishes are a mystery to me. It's like putting your hope out there, opening a part of your heart to the constellations. Imagine if those stars could talk, and the new constellations they could make with the wishes they've heard.”
Joanne DeMaio, Whole Latte Life

“Coffee cups will sit between them, there'll be a mess of those. Lattes or cappuccinos or straight up, whatever. They'll talk it out.”
Joanne DeMaio, Whole Latte Life
