About this author

Megan O'Neill might not be a household name yet, but the author of (Baseball) Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend and Everything I Know: Lessons for Life, Love, and Laughter is just getting started. A Pittsburgh girl through and through, she's a sports fan, an actress, a fiction aficionada who also has an interest in war-time literature (both fictional and non-), a Broadway and theater enthusiast, a film and TV junkie, and a music lover.

A graduate of Duquesne University with a B.A. in English (what do you do with a B.A. in English? You write!) and a double-minor in Spanish and Theology, she is currently searching for the perfect job while working on expanding her list of literary credits. You can find her on Twitter at @missmegs13, email at

I get so mad that I have writer's block that I just start typing and hope something useful comes out of it. If nothing else, I've gotten to take out some of my frustration on my keyboard. (And apologize to it later.) And then I put on music, and have a mini-dance-party.(less)

Sometimes it's hearing a song on the radio, and sometimes it's overhearing a snippet of conversation that someone else is having, and I can't help but hear. Sometimes it's talking to someone, and just flat-out realizing that everyone has a story to tell. So, I can't really say ~how I get inspired, just that when I do, it pretty much smacks me in the face and says "...okay, go write."(less)

That's "Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose."

Whatever.

On this chilly February day - at least here! Anyone with warm weather today, please feel free to zip some over to the frigid zip code that is mine! - I'm just taking a quick moment to reflect on the year so far, the good books I've read, and the fact that I have been a supremely lazy bum when it comes to reviewing them.

I make you all this pr... Read more of this blog post »

When I started this series, I wasn't completely sold on Olivia as a protagonist; I found the supporting characters way more engaging, interesting, and quite frankly, likable. But with each subsequent book, I warmed to her more and more, and in this o ...more

As people might be able to guess, I don't tend to pigeonhole myself into any one niche of literature; I'm happy with thriller novels, true crime, YA stuff, historical fiction, cozy mysteries, cookbooks, classics...I just like to read. And as someone ...more

“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life - and travel - leaves marks on you. Most of the time, those marks - on your body or on your heart - are beautiful. Often, though, they hurt.”
