added a status update: I have also come to the conclusion that being a self published author totally sucks. Fighting an almost overwhelming urge to un-publish my books. This idea may not be rational, so I am going to avoid the computer today. Also had to kill our youngest chick yesterday, as the hens ran it over and broke both its legs. Not a good week. :/:/:/

“The bloody red head emerged.
The white sheet turned crimson.
The infant sat up.
Unfurling soft, white feathered wings, the newborn demigoddess regarded the world around her with large, beguiling blue eyes. As if satisfied with what she saw, she seized her own umbilical cord between her small, sharp teeth and severed her tie with her mother with one, quick bite.”

“You just got what was coming for you!" Anger stripped the niceties from her speech. Lilith spun around to face him again—her fists clenched—as if she could strike him, and wipe the sneer from his dead lips. He infuriated her. Nauseated her. Drove her mad with his mockery. Death had made him bitter, and any charm had sloughed away, along with his flesh.”

“Music is storming, driving, relentless, devotional, slinky, subtle, heartbreakingly-beautiful sounds that, lyrically, switch from the cynical to the sanguine, the defeated to the defiant, dealing in love, war, beauty, children, romance, rejection, Pethedine, poetry, panties, God, Auden, Johnny Cash, cold potatoes, too-much-money, not enough money, writer’s block, flowers, animals and more flowers. Pre GR I had real trouble finding good books to read! Now my to-read list is a living thing. I'm a lazy reviewer though. If I made myself write a review for every book, I'd just avoid it. So I often rate and run :D

I recently finished Cinder, which I LOVED, and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children was good. Oh, and The Psychopaths Test was great too (non-fiction). Best to you, looking forward to chatting more!

I'm down here in frosty Tasmania. I lived in Brisbane while I obtained my Arts degree. I still miss the frangipanis, the rolling hills and the tropical weather.
Thanks about the blog! Looking forward to chatting with you more on GR. :) Gina.
Yes, same idea, a place where feedback can flow. Not that I will be inundating you. More feedback needed towards the end of the process. If we work out what works or irks, beforehand, it helps a lot. I'll be sending the manuscript to my developmental editor first, then addressing rewrites, then sending it on, to all of you. It is a long process! Copy editor at the end to get everything, absolutely right.
:D It's a small closed group and I'll make us all co-mods. Though it would be good. I can share future synopses in the series etc, E.M's sketches along the way, my questions for you, that sort of thing. :) Gina.
