At eighteen, one of her short stories was first published traditionally and later in the year, she took the leap into becoming an indie author by publishing a short anthology, A Glimpse of The Dark.

Anyone who has ever traveled somewhere with a time difference of more than just a couple of hours will agree with this statement: Jet lag is evil. I landed in Germany on the morning of September 14th and have dealt … Continue reading → Read more of this blog post »

“I didn’t ask for your help,” I muttered, too exhausted to properly argue. “So fuck you.”
An alarm bell went off in my head and I bit back a sigh. I swore I sensed the mischievous grin that inevitably crossed his lips.
“I already did you.”
It was going to be a long drive.”
Natasha McNeely, A Glimpse of The Dark

“For one… If you shoot me and your boss realizes it was without good reason, you’ll have fucked up your trial period. And trust me; I know you’re still in it.” Ian pulled open a drawer in a small brown cabinet.

“Secondly, it could end very badly for me and I’d rather prevent that. Getting shot is not on my list of things to do today.” He wrapped his hand around the steel grip of his own weapon and removed it from the drawer.

“And last but not least, if you plan to shoot me… Well, it’ll be a matter of which of us is quicker and has better aim.” A pleasant smile crossed his features and he casually waved the gun from side to side. “Do you want to risk it?”

“Curran looked back at me. "Why is it you always attract creeps?"

"You tell me." Ha! Walked right into that one, yes, he did.”
Ilona Andrews, Magic Strikes

“Not only will you sleep with me, but you will say 'please.'"
I stared at him, shocked.
The smile widened. "You will say 'please' before and 'thank you' after."
Nervous laughter bubbled up. "You've gone insane. All that peroxide in your hair finally did your brain in, Goldilocks.”
Ilona Andrews, Magic Burns

“Here, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty...”

“As he passed me, he leaned to Curran and handed him a paper fan folded from some sort of flyer.

Curran looked at the fan. “What?”
"An emergency precaution, Your Majesty. In case the lady faints.”

Curran just stared at him.

Raphael strode toward the Pit, turned, flexed a bit, and winked at me.

"Give me that,” I told Curran. “I need to fan myself.”
"No, you don’t.”
Ilona Andrews, Magic Strikes

“I don't want it to be attributed to a loss of control on my part. When I throw you out of the window, I want there to be no doubt the act was deliberate.”
Ilona Andrews, Magic Burns
