Mr. Horne lives in Dallas with his wife and four children.

Pawn of Prophecy by David Eddings
I first read the Belgariad series in junior high. My back had suffered a trauma that would lead to a spinal fusion many months later, but at the time I was in a forced bedrest and doped up on valium. I read the whole series in five or six days and lo...more
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
A fun, engaging story with humor and warmth. I enjoyed it thoroughly, as did my father (who heard about it from me) and my kids (who told me about it). I've continued on with the rest of the series and am enjoying them as well.
Magician by Raymond E. Feist
I've read the Riftwar Saga several times over the years. I loved the series as a high schooler and have enjoyed it as an adult. It's a great coming of age story with characters that are bigger than life, and the stakes couldn't be higher, as the univ...more
Storm Front by Jim Butcher
I've read several of the Dresden Files, and was impressed with the relentless pacing. It's almost too much, as reading the books can be more exhausting than relaxing. That said, I found it very helpful to experience the roller coaster of a Jim Butche...more
