S.G. Redling, a graduate of Georgetown University, has spent fifteen years waking up the good folks of Huntington WV and its environs on the WKEE-FM morning radio show. She recently wound up her headphones for the last time and is focusing on thrillers, mysteries and urban fantasy. When S.G. isn't writing (don't tell Christine Witthohn!) she loves to paint, travel and embarrass herself by speaking wretched Italian.

Every time read this book (and I've read it plenty of times) I take away something new. The eloquence of the conversation never fails to amaze me. In these uncertain times, we need this book more than ever.

Amazing. I've had this on my TBR list forever and finally decided to start it. While I enjoyed the story as I read along, it wasn't until the final pages that i learned why this is considered a classic. Deeply moving

“You have two emotions—apathy and rage—and nothing in between.” Ellie wanted him to stop, but she could hear the truth in his words. She closed her eyes for his killing blow. “It’s like you’re not even a person. You’re an…organism.” “That’s not true.” Ellie forced her eyes open. “I am a person. I’m just not good at it.”
S.G. Redling, Flowertown

“When it comes to danger,” he’d say, “everybody’s chicken. But there are two kinds of chickens—chicken hawks and chicken shits. And it doesn’t matter how high up you throw chicken shit, it ain’t never going to fly.”
S.G. Redling, The Widow File

“Each of us has a door to walk through, maybe a thousand, and if we don’t walk through them, we aren’t alive. We aren’t human until we walk through that gate regardless of what’s on the other side.”
S.G. Redling, Damocles

Claude Forthomme I see we have much the same tastes! Though I haven't read all the books on your shelf...You might enjoy Carlos Ruiz Zafon, check him out, I love him, though you can't read them one after the other: they are too similar, a little like Paolo Coehlo: writers that are refreshing when taken in small sips! The Shadow of the Wind
