They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had

Oh, I already replied back, but it was Lindsey Kirk. I believe I had her friended, then she de-friended me and made her profile private. Talk about sucky attitude.

Mel Hey which one was the Shiver review that Maggie Stiefvater flamed?

message 15: by Lucy

Lucy http://ceilidh-ann.livejournal.com/71... The review is also posted on goodreads under Celilidh's account on here, but Maggie Stiefvater appeared on the livejournal and very tactfully told the reviewer that she was killing her chances of getting a book deal. If the Jersey Shore cast made a perfume called 'Classy' and bottled it Stiefvater could be the spokesperson.

Also, Cory! Lindsey has since deleted her bio. I'm sad she got so worked up over it, but in the end she was the one pushing herself over the edge. I think for the most part we were all watching going 'what, pray tell, is that one doing?'

Thanks for putting up the link Lucy. I'd say Steifvater is pretty insecure if she has to act like that.

I just noticed she deleted the account. You think she'll be back? And wouldn't it be funny if she was Becca Fitzpatrick in disguise? She sure was defending the book, or at least Fitzpatrick a hell of a lot. I wonder if authors have secondary accounts they use to defend themselves.

Mel, Steifvater also posted on here too. http://theworstreviewever.blogspot.com/ but I don't if you've already seen that site. It's for authors to complain about the horrible book reviews they've gotten.

LethalLovely~You Knew Who I Was With Every Step That I Ran to You Thank you very much for the friend invite & compliment, Cory! ☺ I like to think I wasn't being confrontational. My whole point of posting that update was to give this chick some advice. We have talked about her letting shit go before when she blew up on another thread. Apparently she didn't take my advice.

message 18: by Mel

Mel -having just read the comments on Ceilidh's LJ and the blogspot site-

Oh my gawd.

Oh lol.

Oh wow. This woman, no, this woman-CHILD is worse than Fitzpatrick. Oh holy fucking shit in a bucket of poop with a side helping of some Lauren Kate Torment. Oh... how why when what where WHYYYY IS SHE PUBLISHED?? WHY IS SHE CONSIDERED A WRITER? WHY IS SHE CONSIDERED AN ADULT??

She's so

fucking

PETTY.

ARRRRGHHHHH!!!

... okay I'm done.

No wait, FUCK YOUNG ADULT.

message 19: by Lucy

Lucy If Steifvater had given that advice to Ceilidh on any other review except her own it might have come off as genuine advice and not a threat. The fact is, she entered the thread because she was addressed. (Maybe it's like Bloody Mary. Said her name too many times.) And commented one line to let her presence and awareness be known. When that didn't grind the discussion to a stop or really have much of an impact at all she started making very sweetly phrased threats. (It's advice someone else gave me!)

Yeah *eye roll*

I really enjoy anime/manga, but I have long realized that the genre is one huge cliche, but I enjoy it for what it is none-the-less. I do however agree with the issues people bring against it. I feel there is a lot of values dissonance between the two cultures that make it different.

I have not read Bakuman, but people think Death Note is sexist so it doesn't shock me.

Kat Kennedy I have foundational issues with a lot of anime in regards to chauvinistic themes.

Though there has been one that I thought was brilliant and a complete departure from the formulas and retried character mainstays.

I think the most unique anime I've ever seen is Paranoia Agent. It doesn't use any of the typical and rather tired anime formulas and stereotypes.

That's true, but I think that most anime does follow a genre formula and there are great exceptions. It's all a matter of taste, imo. I love FMA (Brotherhood) for it's great story and the depth is has. Yet, I still love stuff like DBZ.

Noran Miss Pumkin Hi! Thanks for the friendship. I look forward to spending time with your blog. After reading your rating system--you have me thinking and changing many of my ratings. Anyone who knows of Pan's Labyrinth is automatically more awesome than they already were. I keep going back and forth on this avatar. I like the pale man, but pennywise is creepy too.

But, you know, thanks for the nightmares. First Pennywise, and now Pale Man?

Do you do it on purpose?

message 42: by Vinaya

Vinaya Pan's Labyrinth?!! Why, Cory WHYYY? Why can't we have a nice fluffy avatar for a change?

*runs away and hides*

message 43: by Cory

Cory Seriously you guys. The Pale Man isn't that scary. And Vinaya, you're just trying to ruin my rep. You know far my cred would plummet if I changed it to that picture.

If you guys keep bothering me, I'll be using this next:
