Groucho Marx, The Essential Groucho: Writings For By And About Groucho Marx

“Disbelief in magic can force a poor soul into believing in government and business.”
Tom Robbins

“Our lives are not as limited as we think they are; the world is a wonderfully weird place; consensual reality is significantly flawed; no institution can be trusted, but love does work; all things are possible; and we all could be happy and fulfilled if we only had the guts to be truly free and the wisdom to shrink our egos and quit taking ourselves so damn seriously.”
Tom Robbins

“When we're incomplete, we're always searching for somebody to complete us. When, after a few years or a few months of a relationship, we find that we're still unfulfilled, we blame our partners and take up with somebody more promising. This can go on and on--series polygamy--until we admit that while a partner can add sweet dimensions to our lives, we, each of us, are responsible for our own fulfillment. Nobody else can provide it for us, and to believe otherwise is to delude ourselves dangerously and to program for eventual failure every relationship we enter.”
Tom Robbins

“A sense of humor...is superior to any religion so far devised.”

Richard Chance, as flattering as the compliment is, I'm not responsible for the book porn! That's the other Richard--and you are indeed friends with him already. But I've been following you for a while, because I think you liked one of my reviews once. So after our conversation, I thought I'd take a Chance on a friend request. :)

Happy New Year to you, too!

Sven's review is what prevents me from throwing the book into the dungeon. It challenged me to put my stubborn on. So, I still have high expectations, and will finish it. If you need such encouragement, then the review will not detract you.

Usually I don't read reviews before finishing a book, but I'll read Sven's review. Apparently his brain is bigger in proportion to his age. Thanks for the link.

Sorry I missed your response, Chance. And thanks very much for the offer! I have a Kindle, and I already bought Alexios after reading the sample.

It's really good! I have so much going on right now it will be a while before I can read the entire book. But I am really impressed with your writing! And I read enough about Sum to see the connection with Alexios - all very interesting, and I am glad you alerted me to them.

I certainly would like to have the file as a memento, if and when you have time to send it.

Thanks! And best of luck with the second novel!
Jim

I haven't read Eagleman yet, but I did skim through Incognito after reading Ultraviolet (which I loved). Apparently Eagleman is an expert on synesthesia, and his lab has done a lot of work on it. The book looked really good, from what I saw! I definitely want to come back to it.

I took a look at reviews for Sum: Forty Tales from the Afterlives, and that does look interesting as well! I got the sample and will check it out soon.

I am also very intrigued by your book! I will be checking that one out very soon!

Really happy to be your new friend.

Cheers,
Jim
