About this author

Kris Romaniuk is a writer of truth and lies, and has little use for the facts in between. He is the author of the satirical travel memoir, Rum Socialism: A Travel Diary of Communist Cuba, and is currently working on his two novels.

Kris lives in Montreal with his demons and delusions of grandeur. He enjoys drunk walks on the beach, smoking in the boys room, and the smile of a beautiful woman.

Bobby Dean (Literature & Fiction)
1 chapters   —   updated Feb 15, 2012 01:40pm
Description: I originally wrote this short story for the Writers’ Union of Canada Postcard Story Competition. The challenge was to write something that was no more than 250 words. It took me twice as long to edit it down than it did to write, but then I forgot to submit it in time, and I didn’t want it to go to waste, so I’m posting it here.
Voodoo Country (Travel)
1 chapters   —   updated Jan 29, 2012 12:04pm
Description: Wandering the streets of Trinidad, Cuba, Kris, Dima, and Andre meet an Afro-Cuban priest whose teeth have been filed into fangs and whose skin sags like leather. The holy man leads the three tourists on a tour of the city's slum and its different forms of worship.

Being a straight male, I wouldn't normally read a how-to guide on to perform fellatio, but I've been a fan of Laura Roberts' writing for years so I bought it for a fresh dose of Laura. I laughed and I cringed, but I didn't cringe because of what she...more
